This position is responsible for providing daily engineering support to the operations team, including field troubleshooting, risk assessment facilitation, small-project management, support for larger development projects, and technical assurance. The successful candidate will help manage EPC contractors, provide leadership and direction to BPX and contractor teams, and support the safe handover of compliant, reliable midstream equipment and systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform high-quality engineering work across the Permian Midstream organization.\nPromote safe and efficient operations through rigorous engineering, detailed risk assessments, disciplined document control, and effective project management.\nSupport Process Safety Management compliance through Management of Change execution, design reviews, procedure development, and participation in risk assessments.\nProvide daily support to the field operations team, including spending approximately 25% of time in the field supporting operational activities.\nLead Root Cause Failure Analysis efforts to identify failure mechanisms, drive systematic improvements, and reduce repeat failures.\nLead and participate in risk assessments associated with design changes, operational changes, and project execution.\nManage project processes, tracking, reporting, contractor coordination, and assurance activities.\nProvide positive leadership while working effectively as a collaborative team member.\nShare knowledge with coworkers and support achievement of personal, team, and company business goals and objectives.\nEssential Criteria and Qualifications\n5 or more years’ experience in oil and gas or a related industry, including experience with large gas or oil processing facilities, saltwater disposal facilities, pipelines, chemical facilities, or refining facilities.\nBachelor of Science degree in engineering; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to lead, manage, and champion cohesive teamwork.\nStrong project management skills, including scope development, schedule and cost tracking, contractor coordination, and execution assurance.\nKnowledge of engineering design standards, industry best practices, and operational assurance expectations.\nAbility to travel approximately 25% of the time.\nExperience with rotating equipment, including compressors and pumps, and pipeline systems is helpful.\nSalary and Benefits\nWe offer a reward and wellbeing package to enable your work to fit with your life.
