In this role, you will lead the structural design of a diverse portfolio of projects involving both new building construction and expansion. The role may also include the assessment of existing buildings for expansion, renovation, and integration with new construction.\nWorking alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to complex and rewarding projects across the commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential, industrial, and mixed-use sectors. This position offers an excellent opportunity to take on technical leadership responsibilities while mentoring junior engineers and supporting business growth in the Greater Toronto Area.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead structural engineering projects from concept through construction.\nManage the delivery of projects, overseeing the work of junior/intermediate engineers, EITs, and technical staff, to ensure their work is complete and conforms to all code and company design standards.\nMentor junior/intermediate engineers, EITs, and technical staff.\nSupport proposal preparation, project planning, budgeting, and resource management.\nDesign structural systems and components for new buildings using concrete, steel, masonry and timber. \nPerform seismic assessments and structural analyses in accordance with applicable codes and standards.\nReview and coordinate drawings with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.\nPrepare technical reports, structural calculations, specifications, and construction documents.\nParticipate in site visits, field reviews, and construction support services.\nManage client relationships and serve as a trusted technical advisor.\nConduct structural evaluations, investigations, and condition assessments of existing buildings.\nWhat You'll Bring\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility for immediate registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).\nMinimum 10+ years of structural engineering experience within the buildings sector.\nExtensive experience with both:\nNew building design and construction.\nExisting building assessments, rehabilitation, retrofits, and renovations.\nStrong knowledge of:\nOntario Building Code (OBC)\nNational Building Code of Canada (NBCC)\nCSA structural design standards\nStrong knowledge of ETABS and SAFE analysis/design software.\nExperience using structural analysis and design software such as S-CONCRETE, ADAPT, SAP2000, RAM, RISA, or similar platforms.\nStrong knowledge of Bluebeam software.\nKnowledge of or experience with the use of REVIT.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong time management skills including an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously on demanding timelines.\nExperience with the design of multi-family residential buildings.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading multidisciplinary building projects.\nExperience in high-rise, healthcare, institutional, or commercial, building projects.\nKnowledge of post-tensioned design and construction.\nKnowledge of heritage building restoration projects.\nProject management experience including budgeting, scheduling, and client management.\nExisting relationships within the Toronto development and construction
