Sr Engineer-Inspection & Vials

This role independently provides and directs engineering support for process optimization, troubleshooting, and major system or facility modifications across operations, manufacturing, pilot plant, and capital project environments. It requires advanced engineering expertise, creativity, and leadership in developing solutions, executing complex projects, and interpreting results for initiatives of significant scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Complete complex or novel assignments requiring development of new or improved engineering techniques.
• Develop engineering policies and procedures impacting multiple organizational units.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review work performed by engineers, associates, and technicians.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques and adapt methodologies within area of expertise.
• Utilize engineering knowledge across multiple disciplines to support diverse assignments.
• Serve as a peer-recognized technical specialist responsible for determining methodologies in a defined area.
• Apply mature engineering judgment in planning and executing projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
• Collaborate with research, manufacturing, process development, utilities, facilities, quality assurance, and validation teams to define requirements for large or highly complex system or facility modifications.
• Work with project managers to deliver design and engineering projects within schedule, budget, and quality constraints.
• Coordinate work with consultants, architects, and engineering firms to develop standard design documentation.
• Develop departmental or project budgets across multiple disciplines.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Engineering OR

• Master’s + 2 years of engineering experience OR
• Bachelor’s + 4 years of engineering experience

Preferred requirements

• Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech processes.
• GLPs and GMPs.
• Technical report writing and verbal communication.
• Validation protocol execution.
• Specialized equipment/process expertise.
• Schedule development, facilitation, collaboration, and project management.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with sterile injectable products, prefilled syringes, autoinjectors, pens, or other drug-device combination products.
• Knowledge of packaging operations (primary/secondary packaging, labeling, cartooning) and packaging-line troubleshooting.
• Change management and equipment-specific technical expertise.
• Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and relevant software.
