This role exercises oversight during the construction phase of building systems engineering projects and will be based in our Vienna, VA office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks, be highly organized, have excellent writing skills, proficient computer skills, and a professional and team-oriented demeanor.\nResponsibilities will include:\nImplementing approved system concepts in the construction phase. \nManaging the construction-related aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering; developing and maintaining positive client relationships.\nCommunicating with BR+A Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems and engineering assistance from the design team that you may need.\nCoordinating with other construction trade disciplines and the architect.\nAttending meetings as required, working to submit the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones.\nPerforming field work and verification of existing conditions and newly installed mechanical and electrical systems.\nReviewing, processing, and returning electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection submittals and RFIs. The candidate is not expected to be an expert in all of these aspects of construction, but familiarity with them is desirable.\nWorking with clients to review punch lists and help to resolve design and installation issues.\nRequired Skills:\nFunctional working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems, as well as systems design & construction processes.\nThe ability to work directly with Architects/Owners/Construction Manager representatives in a hands-on training role for the functional understanding of systems.\nBS degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nP.E. License is a plus.\nA strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and/or DDC building automation systems is a plus. \nStrong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.\nGood understanding of MEP Engineering concepts, design and spatial requirements.\nAble to think three-dimensionally.\nAble to physically access and navigate job sites of various sizes to conduct field investigations. Physically capable of climbing ladders to view overhead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.\nDetail oriented and deadline-driven.\nAble to manage time to meet deadlines.\nPrior experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system integration, Building Management Systems, and Air/Water Testing and Balancing disciplines is a plus.\nHVAC engineering experience preferred.\nPrior experience with construction management software, such as Procore and Newforma, is a plus.\nBR+A is a place to learn, to grow, to work hard for clients that matter - and to be part of something bigger.
