The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills and a working knowledge of Revit, and their responsibilities will include:\nPerforming advanced heating and cooling load calculations\nDeveloping sections and elevations of complex ductwork and piping areas\nDeveloping equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases\nEditing specifications to reflect the project requirements\nDeveloping air and water flows\nUnderstanding fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for application\nUsing the psychrometric chart properly for any HVAC system\nMeeting with vendors to determine specification requirements for application \nCoordinating with other disciplines (mepfp, arch, struct, etc) for all HVAC details\nResponding to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittals\nUnderstanding work planning and managing the design process to the available hours in the plan\nUnderstanding the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and delivering appropriate documentation\nModifying sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems\nUnderstanding both constant and variable flow systems, and properly applying equipment\nMeeting with contractors during the bid phase to review the design details\nPerforming field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects\nPosition Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering\nProficient in AutoCAD and Revit\nEIT (Engineer in Training) a plus\n3-5 years of experience\nExperience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education, or Life Science projects\nBR+A is a place to learn, to grow, and to work hard for our clients - all while being a part of something bigger.
