The Finance Manager also helps protect the Company’s assets, strengthen financial accountability, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance operations.\n\n Key Responsibilities\nA. Financial Planning and Budget Management\n\nLead the preparation, coordination, and review of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.\n\nWork with department heads to develop realistic budgets that align with business priorities and operational requirements.\n\nMonitor actual financial performance against approved budgets and investigate significant variances.\n\nRecommend corrective actions to address budget deviations and improve financial performance.\n\nPrepare financial projections to support business planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.\n\nMonitor expenditure and ensure that departments operate within approved budgets and delegated authority.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising service quality or regulatory compliance.\n\nAdvise management on financial implications arising from proposed business activities and operational changes.\n\nB. Financial Reporting and Accounting\n\nOversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and periodic financial reports.\n\nEnsure that the Finance team maintains complete and reliable accounting records.\n\nReview financial transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.\n\nEnsure that the Company applies relevant accounting standards and approved financial reporting policies consistently.\n\nCoordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing processes.\n\nAnalyse financial results and explain significant trends, variances, and performance drivers to management.\n\nMaintain appropriate documentation to support financial transactions and reported balances.\n\nRecommend improvements to accounting procedures, reporting systems, and financial information quality.\n\nC. Treasury, Cash Flow and Liquidity Management\n\nMonitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to ensure that the Company meets its financial obligations on time.\n\nOversee cash management activities and monitor liquidity in accordance with approved policies and regulatory requirements.\n\nReview bank reconciliations and ensure that outstanding items receive timely attention.\n\nMonitor bank balances, cash movements, and other relevant treasury activities.\n\nSupport the effective management of funding requirements and short-term liquidity needs.\n\nIdentify potential cash flow pressures and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.\n\nEnsure that cash management activities follow approved authorisation procedures and internal controls.\n\nMaintain accurate records of treasury activities and provide timely updates to management.\n\nD. Financial Controls and Risk Management\n\nEstablish, review, and strengthen financial controls to safeguard Company assets and promote accountability.\n\nEnsure that financial transactions follow approved policies, procedures, and delegated authority limits.\n\nIdentify financial risks, control weaknesses, and potential irregularities, and recommend appropriate corrective measures.\n\nMonitor compliance with financial procedures relating to procurement, payments, expenses, reconciliations, and asset management.\n\nSupport measures that prevent fraud, unauthorised expenditure, financial misstatements, and operational losses.\n\nReview control exceptions and ensure that responsible employees implement corrective actions.\n\nCollaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to address financial risks and strengthen the control environment.\n\nPromote transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all financial activities.\n\nE. Regulatory and Statutory Compliance\n\nEnsure that financial reporting and accounting activities comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and approved accounting standards.\n\nCoordinate the preparation and submission of required financial and statutory returns within established deadlines.\n\nSupport compliance with applicable tax obligations, filing requirements, and statutory payment deadlines.\n\nMaintain accurate records to support regulatory reporting and statutory examinations.\n\nMonitor changes in relevant accounting, taxation, and financial reporting requirements and assess their implications for the Company.\n\nWork with the appropriate departments and external advisers to resolve financial compliance issues.\n\nCoordinate responses to finance-related regulatory enquiries and information requests.\n\nEnsure that identified compliance gaps receive timely attention and appropriate resolution.\n\nF. Audit Coordination and Financial Governance\n\nCoordinate internal and external audit activities relating to finance and accounting.\n\nPrepare financial schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and other information required for audits.\n\nRespond to audit enquiries and provide accurate information within agreed timelines.\n\nReview audit findings and coordinate the implementation of corrective action plans.\n\nMonitor outstanding audit recommendations and report progress to management.\n\nMaintain organised financial records to support transparency, accountability, and effective audit trails.\n\nPromote adherence to the Company’s financial governance framework and internal policies.\n\nCollaborate with Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance teams to strengthen financial oversight.\n\nG.
