This role will support the design, development, customization and continuous improvement of mining equipment and wear products used across North American mining operations.\nAbout the Role\nReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will contribute to the design and development of Fixed Plant products including wear liner packages, chutes, hoppers, transfer points and related mining equipment. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales and operations teams to deliver practical engineering solutions from concept through to manufacture and field implementation.\nKey Responsibilities\nCreate and maintain 3D models, detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.\nDesign and modify wear products and Fixed Plant equipment for mining applications.\nPerform reverse engineering activities using field measurements and 3D scan data.\nConduct engineering analysis and design validation using appropriate simulation tools.\nSupport product development, product improvement and customer-specific engineering projects.\nParticipate in mine site visits and equipment inspections to gather field information and validate designs.\nMaintain engineering records, Bills of Materials and design changes within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.\nWork collaboratively with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Customer Support teams to ensure manufacturability and product performance.\nSupport continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives across engineering activities.\nRequired Qualifications\nTo be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate:\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.\nMinimum two years of experience in mechanical design, product development, reliability engineering or related engineering disciplines.\nExperience designing manufactured products within mining, heavy industrial, materials handling, construction equipment or similar industries.\nDemonstrated proficiency using Siemens NX for 3D modelling and engineering drafting.\nExperience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter.\nExperience performing reverse engineering activities using site measurements and/or 3D scan data.\nExperience preparing manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials and engineering change documentation.\nStrong understanding of engineering drawing standards and manufacturing processes.\nValid driver's licence and ability to travel to customer and manufacturing sites within North America.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPreference will be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:\nFixed Plant mining equipment.\nChute, hopper, conveyor or wear liner design.\n3D scanning technologies and point-cloud processing.\nFARO laser scanning equipment.\nPolyworks, Geomagic or similar scan-processing platforms.\nANSYS or equivalent engineering analysis software.\nSurface mining operations and maintenance environments.\nISO 9001 quality management systems.\nSpanish language capability.\nFrench language capability. \nAdditional Information\nThis role is primarily office-based at our location in 90 Richmond St E Suite 400, Toronto, Ontario M5C 1P1 Canada,with periodic travel to mine sites and manufacturing facilities.
