With a workforce of more than 3,000 employees, our ability to adapt and evolve keeps us firmly positioned as global leaders in the wear solutions market.\nAbout the role\nBradken is seeking a Metallurgist to support metallurgy, quality and process control at our Merlimau manufacturing facility.\nThis is role is suited to someone who has developed a solid foundation in foundry operations and is ready to take greater ownership of day-to-day technical decisions.\nReporting to the Technical Lead, you will work closely with production and technical teams across melting, heat treatment, inspection and product quality.\nIt offers the opportunity to deepen your foundry expertise while contributing directly to product quality, manufacturing performance and continuous improvement.\nWhat You Will Do\nMonitor and provide technical support for melting, heat treatment and other metallurgical processes.\nReview inspection and test results to determine whether products meet customer and specification requirements.\nPrepare material test certificates, inspection records and technical documentation.\nInvestigate non-conformances and product failures, identify likely causes and recommend practical corrective actions.\nWork with production teams to resolve quality issues without compromising safety or technical standards.\nSupport material selection, process changes and improvements to existing products.\nHelp improve manufacturing cost and performance through better metallurgical control and problem-solving.\nMaintain quality procedures, process controls and relevant Quality Management System requirements.\nEnsure testing and inspection equipment remains calibrated and fit for use.\nCommunicate quality findings clearly to production, technical and sales stakeholders.\nParticipate in Gemba, 5S, safety activities and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.\nWhat You Will Bring\nA degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science is essential\nAt least three years of relevant experience in a foundry, metals manufacturing or similar environment.\nWorking knowledge of melting, heat treatment, metallurgy and material properties.\nExperience supporting process control, product inspection, quality investigations or non-conformance analysis.\nAbility to interpret technical requirements and prepare clear reports, procedures and test documentation.\nA structured approach to problem-solving and the confidence to make sound technical recommendations.\nGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams in a hands-on plant environment.\nExposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma or similar improvement methods would be useful.  \nCurrent legal right to work in Malaysia.\n Based in Merlimau or within practical commuting distance, with the ability to attend the Merlimau site daily.\nWhat Will Help You Succeed\nYou will be practical, analytical and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
