Together, we help the resources sector sustainably advance society.\nAbout the role\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead and oversee maintenance reliability, plant improvement initiatives, and contractor management within our manufacturing operations in Merlimau.\nThis role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment through the effective execution of preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance programs. Working closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, and Engineering teams, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage maintenance budgets and resources, and contribute to operational excellence across the site.\nIf you thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoy leading teams, solving complex technical challenges, and improving plant performance, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.\nCoordinate maintenance resources, schedules, contractors, spare parts, and technical support to ensure timely execution of maintenance work.\nDrive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Bradken's safety standards, environmental requirements, and contractor management processes.\nAnalyse major equipment failures, lead root cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions to improve plant performance.\nLead plant shutdown planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives, including CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements.\nManage maintenance budgets, inventories, documentation, and team performance while fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.\nWhat you’ll bring:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nProven experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing, foundry, heavy industry, or industrial plant environment.\nStrong knowledge of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement practices.\nExperience leading maintenance teams, managing contractors, and coordinating plant shutdowns or major maintenance activities.\nDemonstrated experience in root cause analysis, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects.\nFamiliarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS/EAM) and maintenance planning processes.\nStrong understanding of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management principles.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.\nNote: Applicants must have the legal right to work in Malaysia.
