This role ensures accurate inventory valuation, landed cost allocation, and financial reporting while providing analytical support to purchasing, supply chain, operations, and sales team. You will be highly focused on automation and efficiency - have a “systems” mindset. You will maintain the integrity of our departmental reporting and expand our internal control structure. This position reports to our Assistant Controller.\nResponsibilities\nCost Accounting & Analysis\nMaintain, update, and enhance standard costing systems for products, services, or projects.\nPerform detailed cost analysis for landed costs, such as materials, freight, duty, labor, overhead, and production costs, for capitalization purposes.\nAnalyze price and volume variances (in terms of material, labor, and overhead), providing actionable insights and recommendations.\nMonitor and report on cost trends, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement in collaboration with procurement and operations.\nProvide product cost information for new product introductions and pricing decisions.\nSupport FP&A and operations during budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.\nAccounting & Month-End Close\nLead month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.\nPrepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for inventory and cost-related accounts.\nReconcile Inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) accounts, investigating and resolving variances discrepancies, and any unusual transactions.\nAnalyze inventory movements and monitor risks related to obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, including inventory valuations, capitalization requirements, and cost flow assumptions (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average).\nPrepare detailed cost reports and margin analysis to support business decision-making.\nSupport internal and external audits by providing documentation, analysis, and responding to audit inquiries.\nMaintain accuracy and integrity of cost data used in financial statements.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nServe as the primary liaison between business and IT teams for inventory management and warehouse management system integration initiatives.\nPartner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve inventory discrepancies, integration issues, and process inefficiencies, ensuring data accuracy and operational alignment between NetSuite and the WMS\nCompile and analyze cost information for procurement, supply chain, operations, and sales teams to support budgeting, cost-control, and process improvement efforts.\nSupport ERP system enhancements, cost module configuration, and data integrity initiatives\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n5-8+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably in a product-based environment\nExperience with standard and average costing systems and inventory accounting required\nExposure to multi-site and/or global operations is a plus\nExposure to FTZ warehouse or bonded warehouse is a plus\nAdvance Excel Skills\nAbility to work in a collaborative environment\nAbility to thrive under pressure, balancing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality standards\nPay and Benefits\nUS$90,000.00 - US$110,000.00 Annually\nFinal compensation offered will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
