The captures you run directly feed the models and datasets that power this.\nThis is a hands-on, primarily on-site role covering studio operations, cinematography, lighting, basic rigging and client-facing direction. You’ll run professional multi-camera systems, solve technical issues and guide contributors through interviews, presentations, scripted material and performance exercises.\nOur studios will keep evolving alongside Brahma's technology and model requirements, so you'll work closely with AI artists, engineering, research, production and data teams to test new configurations and improve how the studio runs. This is not a role for someone who only wants to operate a fixed setup. We need someone who is curious, practical and comfortable changing the workflow when required.\nThe role involves regular travel for location captures, studio launches, and technical support.\nKey responsibilities\nStudio operations\nTake day-to-day ownership of an assigned studio - organised, maintained and ready to shoot.\n\nPrepare and operate professional single- and multi-camera capture systems.\n\nConfigure cameras, lenses, exposure, colour, frame rate, shutter, timecode, genlock and monitoring.\n\nMonitor focus, exposure, framing, sync and recording status throughout each session.\n\nIdentify technical, visual or performance issues early and decide when material needs re-shooting.\n\nMaintain safe working practices around lighting, grip, mounting, cable management and basic rigging.\n\nDirecting contributors\nMake creative decisions on framing, lenses, camera placement, lighting, eyelines and visual consistency.\n\nGuide contributors through interviews, presentations, scripted material and performance exercises.\n\nHelp subjects feel comfortable and deliver natural, clear, engaging performances.\n\nRepresent Brahma professionally during client sessions, demos and high-profile captures.\n\nWorkflow & data\nManage media, checksum-verified data offload, session documentation and handover to downstream teams.\n\nTest and implement new workflows as camera technology and capture requirements evolve.\n\nWork with AI artists, engineering, research, production and data teams to turn technical requirements into reliable capture setups.\n\nDocument tests, findings, limitations and recommended workflow improvements.\n\nTravel & support\nSupport location shoots, studio launches and technical testing when required.\n\nIdeal profile\n[5+] years' professional experience in cinematography, studio production, camera operation, broadcast or technical production.\n\nHighly comfortable operating professional cinema cameras and multi-camera workflows.\n\nStrong understanding of lighting, framing, lenses, exposure, colour and visual continuity.\n\nPractical knowledge of timecode, genlock, monitoring and professional media workflows.\n\nExperience working safely with grip, mounting and basic rigging systems.\n\nComfortable directing interviews and working closely with clients, contributors and talent.\n\nStrong creative judgement and a careful, methodical approach to technical work.\n\nAble to follow detailed capture standards and respond confidently when requirements change.\n\nTechnically curious, calm and solution-focused under pressure.\n\nStrong communication skills; comfortable collaborating across creative and technical teams.\n\nComfortable learning custom software and working in a Linux-based environment.\n\nNice to have\nExperience with Sony BURANO, FX6 or comparable cinema-camera systems.\n\nExperience with AI, facial, performance, volumetric or dataset capture.\n\nExperience handling large media volumes and checksum-verified data workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with remote camera control, networking, SDK-based workflows or studio automation.\n\nAudio knowledge (mics, wireless systems, recorders) is a bonus but this is not primarily a sound-recordist role.\nHow the role fits within the team\nThe Studio Capture Operator owns reliable day-to-day operation of an assigned studio and supports location work when required. You'll work closely with the team responsible for Brahma's global capture strategy, studio standards, operator training and quality control.\nAs Brahma expands, this role will join a wider network of permanent studio operators and freelance capture specialists working to the same standards.\nWhat success looks like\nCapture sessions are technically reliable, visually consistent and clearly documented. Contributors feel comfortable and receive confident creative direction. Problems are caught before they affect the resulting data, and media is handled safely and accurately.
