in Eastbourne, Shinewater Court provides specialist accommodation and personalised support for adults living with a range of physical and neurological disabilities.\nThe service supports individuals with conditions including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and disabilities resulting from accidents, stroke or other neurological injuries.\nOur focus is on creating a safe, welcoming and homely environment where individuals are encouraged to develop their independence, maintain important life skills and participate in meaningful activities within their community.\nWorking closely with individuals, their families and healthcare professionals, our team delivers tailored support that reflects each person's needs, preferences and aspirations.\nAs a Team Leader, you will play an important role in ensuring that everyone at Shinewater Court receives compassionate, consistent and high-quality support.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and supervision to a team of Support Workers, ensuring that care is delivered to the highest standards and in accordance with individual support plans.\nYou will lead by example, promoting a positive, person-centred culture while ensuring that the service operates safely, effectively and in line with Brainkind's policies and regulatory requirements.\nCombining hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, you will help create an environment where both the people we support and your colleagues can thrive.\nKey Responsibilities\nLeadership and Team Development\nLead, motivate and supervise a designated team of Support Workers, promoting a positive and supportive working environment.\nProvide regular supervision, performance feedback, coaching and development opportunities.\nSupport the recruitment, induction and ongoing training of new and existing team members.\nOrganise staff rotas, annual leave and training to maintain safe staffing levels and appropriate skill mixes.\nPromote high standards of professionalism, accountability and teamwork.\nPerson-Centred Care and Support\nEnsure individuals receive high-quality, compassionate care tailored to their needs, preferences and personal goals.\nSupport the development, implementation and regular review of individual care and support plans.\nEncourage independence, choice, dignity and meaningful participation in everyday activities.\nWork directly alongside Support Workers to deliver care and support when required.\nHelp maintain a safe, comfortable and welcoming home environment for the people we support.\nQuality, Compliance and Safeguarding\nEnsure care is delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards and Brainkind policies.\nSupport quality assurance processes, internal audits and continuous service improvement.\nPromote a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring concerns, incidents and accidents are appropriately reported and escalated.\nOversee safe medication administration, ordering, storage and auditing in line with individual requirements and organisational procedures.\nSupport effective health and safety practices across the service, ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.\nService Coordination and Communication\nWork collaboratively with families, advocates, healthcare professionals, local authorities and other external stakeholders.\nSupport the effective day-to-day operation of the service, including resource management and appropriate financial procedures.\nContribute to staff meetings, service planning and the ongoing development of care practices.\nMaintain professional relationships that reflect Brainkind's values and commitment to high-quality care.\nProvide support to other Brainkind services where reasonably required.\nAbout You\nWe are looking for a caring, proactive and confident individual who can inspire others, maintain high standards and make a positive impact on the people we support.\nYou will ideally have:\nNVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards this qualification within 12 months.\nPrevious experience working within a health or social care setting, ideally supporting adults with complex physical disabilities or neurological conditions.\nExperience supervising, mentoring or supporting colleagues, or the confidence and motivation to develop your leadership skills.\nA good understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and relevant health and social care legislation.\nKnowledge of safe medication administration and management.\nStrong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate workloads, prioritise tasks and respond effectively to changing needs.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, individuals and their families.\nA commitment to maintaining accurate care records and professional
