The Role
We are looking for a Construction Scheduler / Estimating Coordinator to support the scheduling, estimating and cost tracking needs of our client, an Australian residential construction business. You will maintain project programmes, assist with take-offs and basic estimating, support drawing edits, and help track project costs, working closely with the client's team to keep schedules and cost data current and accurate.
Key Duties
- Develop, update and maintain construction schedules and project programmes.
- Coordinate scheduling activities across trades, suppliers and site teams.
- Assist with basic estimating tasks, including quantity take-offs.
- Support basic drawing edits and mark-ups as required.
- Track project costs and assist with basic project accounting functions.
- Maintain accurate, current records across scheduling, estimating and cost tracking systems.
- Liaise with the client's team to keep programmes and cost information up to date.
- Issue requests for quotation and compare quotations on a like-for-like basis.
- Prepare purchase orders and work orders, ensuring these reflect the latest drawings and specifications.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in construction scheduling, estimating or construction coordination in Australian-based company
- Australian residential construction experience.
- Background in scheduling, estimating, quantity surveying, drafting or construction coordination.
- Working knowledge of basic estimating and quantity take-offs.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Quantities.
- Experience with basic drawing edits or mark-ups.
- Experience with basic project accounting or cost tracking.
- Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with any of the following: Cubit/Buildsoft, CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or other Australian construction estimating/project-management software
