Reliable API’s and messaging flows are essential to keeping these systems aligned.\nBased in Belgium, you will combine hands-on engineering with day-to-day technical leadership of two remote Software Engineers. You will help the team maintain a steady sprint rhythm, review code, resolve technical blockers and deliver integration components that meet demanding performance and reliability requirements.\nSystem architecture and overall solution design remain with the core architecture team. Your focus will be on translating that direction into well-engineered, production-ready software and consistent team delivery.\nKey responsibilities\nCoordinate the day-to-day technical work of two remote Software Engineers, ensuring clear task allocation and steady progress toward sprint objectives.\n\nContribute production code using C#, .NET 10 and Azure Function Apps.\n\nPerform detailed code reviews, checking code quality, performance and alignment with agreed designs and engineering standards.\n\nEnsure integration components meet requirements for latency, throughput, scalability, resilience and fault tolerance.\n\nIdentify and resolve technical blockers, supporting team members with practical guidance and hands-on problem-solving.\n\nTranslate architectural specifications into actionable implementation work and clarify technical questions with the core architecture team.\n\nAct as the operational link between the architecture team and the remote engineering team.\n\nMentor team members and strengthen shared engineering practices across the team.\n\nWhat makes this role interesting?\nA technical leadership position that keeps you actively involved in software engineering.\n\nIntegration challenges involving high-volume messaging and business-critical enterprise systems.\n\nAn Azure-native environment using modern .NET and serverless technologies.\n\nClose collaboration with solution architects and an international engineering team.\n\nDirect influence on code quality, delivery effectiveness and the reliability of software supporting service operations.\n\nRequirements\nLocation\nApplicants must currently reside in Belgium and be legally authorized to work in Belgium. This position is based in Antwerp.\nExperience level\nYou have substantial hands-on experience in C#/.NET backend engineering and a proven track record of leading or coordinating Software Engineers. You are comfortable taking responsibility for daily technical delivery while remaining an active contributor to the codebase.\nCore skills\nC#/.NET and Azure\nStrong practical expertise in C# and modern .NET.\n\nHands-on experience building serverless backend components using Azure Function Apps.\n\nAbility to implement maintainable integration logic within an established architecture.\n\nHigh-volume integration and messaging\nPractical experience engineering systems with demanding message-processing requirements.\n\nAbility to address latency, throughput, scalability, fault tolerance and reliability in implementation decisions.\n\nUnderstanding of robust communication flows between enterprise applications.\n\nTechnical leadership and quality\nProven experience guiding remote engineers and coordinating their technical work.\n\nStrong code review skills, with attention to correctness, maintainability and performance.\n\nAbility to unblock colleagues and turn technical challenges into clear next steps.\n\nNice-to-have skills\nExperience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.\n\nExperience integrating with SAP, Microsoft Dataverse or Microsoft Dynamics.\n\nRelevant Microsoft Azure or .NET certifications, such as AZ-204.\n\nWhat you bring\nExcellent spoken and written English.\n\nA practical leadership style that combines clear direction with support for your colleagues.\n\nOwnership of delivery commitments and early communication of risks or blockers.\n\nConfidence working across locations and collaborating with architects and remote engineers.\n\nSound judgment about when to solve an issue within the team and when to involve the architecture team.\n\nWhat we offer to employees\nAs a Brainsquare employee, you can count on a permanent contract, a competitive salary and benefits package, opportunities to further develop your technical and leadership expertise, and support from colleagues across our technical community.
