This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and plant operational standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nElectrical Maintenance\nTroubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, starters, relays, sensors, VFDs, and control circuits.\nDiagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems.\nInstall and maintain electrical wiring, panels, switches, and control devices.\nPerform preventative maintenance on electrical components and instrumentation.\nRead and interpret electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.\nMechanical Maintenance\nMaintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, and drive systems used in poultry processing.\nPerform repairs on cut-up machines, deboning equipment, chillers, graders, and packaging equipment.\nTroubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.\nPerform welding, fabrication, and mechanical modifications when required.\nPreventative Maintenance\nPerform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on production and facility equipment.\nInspect machinery for wear, alignment, lubrication, and operational issues.\nMaintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records.\nEquipment Installation & Support\nAssist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment.\nSupport plant operations by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and production issues.\nWork with production teams to minimize downtime.\nSafety & Compliance\nFollow OSHA, food safety, and plant safety regulations.\nMaintain compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.\nEnsure equipment meets USDA and food processing standards.\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\nStrong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment.\nExperience with motors, drives, PLC systems, sensors, and automated equipment.\nAbility to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.\nKnowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems.\nBasic welding and fabrication skills preferred.\nAbility to troubleshoot equipment under production conditions.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, or agricultural processing plants.\nKnowledge of refrigeration systems, chillers, and processing equipment.\nFamiliarity with CMMS maintenance systems.\nTechnical certification or trade school in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or electro-mechanical systems.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift 50+ pounds.\nWork in cold, wet, and production environments typical of poultry plants.\nAbility to stand, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.\nSuccessful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check are required.\nBrakebush provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.\nThis policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
