You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers, data scientists, and product teams to turn complex requirements into reliable production software.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role with opportunities to develop expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and machine learning systems.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nBuild and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.\n\nDevelop distributed data-processing workflows using technologies such as Spark and AWS EMR.\n\nBuild and maintain workflow pipelines using Apache Airflow.\n\nIntegrate machine learning models into production engineering pipelines.\n\nDevelop and operate containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nContribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD systems.\n\nWrite well-tested, maintainable production code.\n\nTroubleshoot application, data, and infrastructure issues across distributed systems.\n\nHelp improve the reliability, scalability, security, and observability of the platform.\n\nCollaborate with engineering, data science, and product teams to design and deliver new capabilities.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nStrong software development skills, particularly with Python.\n\nExperience building backend applications, services, or APIs.\n\nFamiliarity with relational databases and SQL.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures, ideally AWS.\n\nExperience with containerization and modern software development practices such as Docker, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.\n\nUnderstanding of distributed systems and data-processing concepts.\n\nAbility to debug complex technical problems and learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.\n\nA pragmatic problem-solving mindset with an emphasis on performance, security, maintainability, and simplicity.\n\nNICE-TO-HAVES\nExperience with Spark, Airflow, Athena, Redshift, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.\n\nExperience working with Kubernetes.\n\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or CDK.\n\nExperience with large-scale datasets or data-processing systems.\n\nExposure to machine learning engineering or model deployment.\n\nExperience with data modeling, query optimization, or performance tuning.\n\nFamiliarity with proprietary data lakes, Snowflake, or Databricks.\n\nExposure to Healthcare, AdTech, or privacy-sensitive data systems.\n\nWHY JOIN BRANCHLAB?\nCompetitive salary (110-150k) + significant equity\n\nTackle complex engineering challenges in privacy-first healthcare advertising.\n\nWork alongside top-tier engineers and data scientists.\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nBranchLab is an equal opportunity employer.
