Our company culture thrives on innovation, collaboration, and a shared passion for the products we offer.\nAs we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team and help drive our finance strategy and operations to new heights.\nAbout the Role\nBrandshopper is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Bath/Bethlehem PA.\nThis role will support financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, retail and food & beverage operations, and other accounting and compliance activities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager as well as teams across Retail Operations, Food & Beverage, Purchasing, and other areas of the business.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants exposure beyond traditional general ledger accounting and is interested in understanding how business operations translate into financial results.\nOur business includes e-commerce, retail, hospitality, inventory management, fulfillment, and distribution, providing the opportunity to develop broad accounting and operational experience.\nFinancial Reporting & Month-End Close\nAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.\nPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\nReview account activity and investigate unusual transactions or variances.\nAssist with financial reporting and management analysis.\nSupport internal and external audit requests.\nHelp improve financial reporting processes and internal controls.\nRetail & Food & Beverage Accounting\nSupport accounting for retail store and food & beverage operations.\nReconcile daily point-of-sale activity, including sales, payments, discounts, gift cards, and other tender types.\nReview cash reports and investigate discrepancies.\nAssist with sales and revenue reconciliations.\nReconcile food & beverage sales, inventory usage, and related expenses.\nAssist with food cost, inventory usage, profitability, and variance analysis.\nInventory Accounting\nSupport inventory accounting across e-commerce, retail, and food & beverage operations.\nReconcile inventory records between operational systems and the general ledger.\nAnalyze inventory adjustments, shrinkage, and variances.\nAssist with inventory valuation and costing analysis.\nPartner with operational teams to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.\nAdditional Accounting Support\nProvide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.\nAssist with payment processor and merchant account reconciliations.\nSupport payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and labor-cost reporting.\nAssist with sales tax, tobacco excise tax, and other regulatory reporting and documentation.\nReview shipping and freight invoices and assist with fulfillment and distribution expense reporting.\nParticipate in ERP, reporting, process-improvement, and other cross-functional projects.\nRequirements\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nUnderstanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.\nStrong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting and operational teams.\n Preferred\n2-4 years of accounting experience.\nExperience with retail, restaurant, hospitality, or food & beverage accounting.\nExperience reconciling POS transactions or sales activity.\nInventory accounting experience.\nExperience with Odoo Accounting or another ERP system.\nExperience in an e-commerce or distribution environment.\nExposure to sales tax or other regulatory compliance
