For more information, visit www.braskem.com/usa.\nJob: Process Operator \nDepartment: Manufacturing \nLocation: Marcus Hook, PA \nTravel Involved: 0% \nJob Type: Full Time \nDescription:\nThe Operator operates plant machinery and equipment designed to produce polypropylene, adheres to established operating standards, and remains vigilant about safety procedures and protocols.\nKey Responsibilities Include:\nFollows operating discipline, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties.\nPerforms routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products.\nMonitors the process, takes readings and adjusts controls to correct deviations from set operating standards.\nControls, monitors and makes needed adjustments to all control systems and manually operated equipment.\nIdentifies equipment requiring maintenance, provides proper notification, clears and tags equipment as required, and issues Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work.\nPrepares equipment for maintenance, which includes lock-out/tag-out; the position also requires performing some minor maintenance\nUses troubleshooting skills to resolve process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems.\nCompletes Product transfers and transitions as required by the product schedule.\nCommunicates and coordinates activities with other operators on your shift.\nActs as a resource for other team members on job tasks and prioritization of work activities.\nPerforms tasks assigned per task list, accurately completing all required paperwork.\nPerforms all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.\nResponsible for sampling set by the area sample schedule.\nMaintains a number of data logs and inspection forms\nResponsible for housekeeping.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nRequirements:\nSix months of experience working in a chemical plant or oil-refining environment.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nA current, valid, United States driver’s license.\nCapable of meeting the physical demands of this position, including frequent walking and standing; working in confined spaces; climbing ladders/scaffolding to perform elevated work; repetitive motion; and occasional lifting of weights up to 60 pounds.\nFlexibility to work potential overtime, if needed (including weekends and holidays), given advanced notice.\nBe able to complete self-paced computer based training.\nHave general computer skills necessary to operate SharePoint and Microsoft Office.\nBe able to drive a forklift\nWilling and able to be a member of the Emergency Response Team.\nSolid inventory management skills\nGood mechanical aptitude with organizational and communication skills.\nMust be able to have a sound decision making skills and the ability to trouble shoot and accomplish things by working with other employees\nPreferred Skills, Education, and Experience:\n2 years of experience as a chemical plant operator.\nProcess Technology degree.\nPrevious Polyolefin operations experience.\nExperience or interest in control room operation.\nWhat we offer\nAt Braskem, we offer more than just a competitive pay package.
