The position interacts with tax consultants and is also involved in the necessary audits related to the tax environment.\nKey Responsibilities Include: \nDirect Tax\nParticipate in the preparation of federal and state income tax calculations and entries (monthly provisions and compliance).\nMaintain tax depreciation schedules and support book-to-tax adjustments.\nSupport the preparation of estimated tax payments.\nProcess federal and state income tax payments.\nProcess annual extensions.\nAssist with state franchise tax calculations and filings.\nPrepare data requests and supporting documentation for external tax advisors responsible for tax return preparation.\nIndirect Tax\nPerform monthly reconciliations of sales and use tax entries to identify exceptions for adjustments.\nProvide support to the business regarding sales and use tax exemptions, including certificates.\n\nPerform Superfund excise tax reconciliations and reporting.\nCoordinate Canada’s GST/QST payment processing.\nMonitor indirect tax accruals and prepare adjustments when necessary.\nProperty Tax\nMaintain property tax accruals and ensure proper allocation.\nAssist in tracking property tax notices and payment deadlines.\nInformation Reporting and Other Compliance\nSupport annual preparation and filing of Forms (1099, 1042, 720).\nAssist with FBAR reporting and information gathering.\nSupport preparation and filing of other miscellaneous tax filings, licenses, and reports.\nPrepare and process tax payments.\nMonitor tax compliance calendars and filing deadlines.\nMaintain organized tax documentation and records.\nControl Environment and Audit\nPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation of tax-related GL accounts.\nSupport tax audits and tax authority inquiries by gathering information and preparing responses.\nAssist with maintaining tax controls and documentation.\nDevelop and maintain process narratives and desktop procedures.\nRequired Skills, Education, and Experience: \nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax\n3+ years of corporate tax, public accounting, or tax consulting experience\nGood knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. federal/state income tax concepts\nExperience with tax reconciliations and account analysis\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills\nAnalytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nCandidates must be currently eligible to work in the United States without the need for any type of sponsorship now or in the future\nPreferred Skills, Education, and Experience: \nExperience supporting both direct and indirect tax functions\nExperience with ERP systems such as SAP\nKnowledge of sales and use tax compliance processes\nExperience with OneSource or similar tax technology solutions\nCPA or CPA-track candidate\nWhat we offer\nAt Braskem, we offer more than just a competitive pay package.
