Reporting to the Senior Director, Controller, this hands-on role will support internal controls, financial reporting, system implementations, and collaboration with finance, clinical operations, external vendors, and other cross-functional partners as Braveheart Bio continues to scale.\nKey responsibilities:\nSupport the monthly accounting close process, ensuring a timely, accurate close within external and internal reporting deadlines. Support FP&A budget to actual reporting.\nReview journal entries and reconciliations prepared by accounting team members. Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff.\nOwn clinical trial accrual preparation including review of clinical contracts, CRO reports, patient costs, site costs, and invoices; liaise directly with internal stakeholders and clinical vendors to ensure accruals are complete, accurate, and timely.\nImplement policies and procedures for accounting activities and functions. Maintain internal controls in areas of responsibility. Improve and streamline processes where appropriate.\nSupport annual audits, quarterly financial reviews, and internal controls testing. Support system implementations and other projects as needed.\nPromote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, execution excellence, effective communication and cross-functional problem-solving as a key member of a high-performing team.\nRequired experience & skills:\n5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with publicly traded, pre-IPO, or clinical stage biotech/life sciences companies preferred.\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.\nDeep technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP), including R&D accruals and clinical trial accounting.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.)\nStrong knowledge of public company requirements, internal controls (SOX), and cross-functional alignment.\nExperience supporting Big 4 or national firm audits.\nExcellent judgment, high integrity, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain comfortable with change and ambiguity.\nFlexible, proactive, and hands-on mindset with a roll-up-your-sleeves, can-do attitude.\nPreferred experience & skills:\nCPA license preferred.\nPublic accounting experience preferred.\nExperience with NetSuite preferred.\nBase Salary Range: $125,000 -
