The role combines strong backend engineering in Node.js with hands-on work on AI solutions, experimentation, evaluation and integration into a live product.\n\nThe role will suit someone who gets satisfaction from seeing their work used by real customers—not solely from conducting research or experimenting with models.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js\n\nBuild and integrate AI-powered features into production systems\n\nResearch different AI approaches, run experiments and evaluate results to identify the most suitable solutions\n\nDevelop Python-based components for AI/ML workflows, data processing and experimentation\n\nBuild prototypes and transform successful approaches into reliable, production-ready solutions\n\nIntegrate LLMs, AI models and external AI services with existing backend systems\n\nDefine evaluation methods and metrics to measure the quality and performance of AI solutions\n\nWork closely with engineering and product teams on architecture and implementation decisions\n\nTake ownership of features from technical design and experimentation through implementation and deployment\n\nMonitor and improve existing solutions based on production results, performance and user feedback\n\nRequirements:\nStrong commercial experience with Node.js and backend development\n\nAt least 2 years of commercial experience working with AI/ML solutions\n\nProfessional experience with Python\n\nHands-on experience building and integrating AI-powered functionality into real-world products\n\nExperience taking AI experiments or prototypes into production\n\nAbility to research different technical approaches, test them and make decisions based on results\n\nUnderstanding of how to evaluate AI-based solutions, including quality, accuracy, latency and cost\n\nStrong understanding of backend architecture, APIs and integrations\n\nAbility to independently own technically complex features from idea to production\n\nHighly Valued\nSome experience with JavaScript, as other parts of the platform use it\n\nPrevious experience in travel
