The role combines strong Python engineering with test architecture, laboratory automation, and hands-on work with physical hardware.\nResponsibilities:\nDesigning and developing automated tests in Python and pytest for optical and embedded devices.\n\nBuilding and maintaining Python-based test suites and shared libraries.\n\nAutomating communication with laboratory equipment and measurement instruments.\n\nDeveloping test strategies covering functional, integration, and performance testing.\n\nIntegrating automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.\n\nMaking architectural decisions and balancing technical trade-offs.\n\nParticipating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with the team.\n\nDesigning manual tests where automation is not yet justified.\n\nRequirements:\n5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.\n\nStrong knowledge of OOP and software design principles.\n\nExperience designing maintainable software or test architecture.\n\nPractical understanding of threading, multiprocessing, and concurrent I/O.\n\nUnderstanding of Python's GIL and its impact on I/O-bound and CPU-bound workloads.\n\nHands-on experience with pytest.\n\nWorking knowledge of NumPy, SciPy, pandas, matplotlib, and PyVISA.\n\nStrong engineering practices, including clean code, testing, and code reviews.\n\nTechnical background in engineering, physics, optics, or a related field.\n\nNice to have:\nExperience automating physical hardware or laboratory instruments.\n\nExperience with optical or measurement equipment.\n\nExperience with embedded or hardware-related
