Driven by our purpose of helping everyone, in every building, everywhere, we are creating a safer, more sustainable built environment for people and planet.\nYour role at BRE\nAs a Certification Project Engineer, you'll manage certification projects from initial enquiry through to final approval, supporting clients in achieving compliance with recognised industry standards and certification schemes.\nWorking with UK and international customers, you'll review technical data, coordinate testing programmes, assess compliance against regulatory requirements and provide expert guidance throughout the certification process. This is a varied role that combines technical analysis, project management and customer engagement.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage certification projects from application through to certification decision and certificate issuance.\n\nReview technical data, test evidence and product information against certification and regulatory requirements.\n\nDevelop and coordinate testing schedules with laboratories and clients.\n\nSupport manufacturers in navigating certification and compliance requirements.\n\nAssess products against LPCB schemes, UKCA requirements and relevant industry standards.\n\nLiaise with customers, testing teams, auditors, accreditation bodies and internal stakeholders.\n\nParticipate in internal and external audits, including UKAS assessments.\n\nMaintain accurate technical records and documentation.\n\nContribute to the continuous improvement of certification processes and services.\n\nWhat we are looking for\nWe're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate a combination of technical knowledge, analytical thinking and strong organisational skills.\nYou'll ideally have:\nExperience within passive fire protection, fire testing, product certification, construction products, engineering, material science or a related technical field.\n\nAn understanding of product testing, technical assessment or compliance processes.\n\nThe ability to interpret technical standards, specifications and regulations.\n\nStrong analytical skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with customers and stakeholders.\n\nExperience managing multiple projects or competing priorities.\n\nThe ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.\n\nA customer-focused approach, maintaining professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.\n\nThe following would be advantageous but are not essential:\nKnowledge of passive fire protection products and systems.\n\nExperience of certification schemes or conformity assessment.\n\nUnderstanding of ISO 17065, ISO 9001 or factory production control processes.\n\nExperience working with manufacturing environments or quality systems.\n\nBRE Benefits\nAt BRE, we offer a competitive salary, reviewed annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your financial security, well-being, and career development.\nFinancial & Security Benefits\nPension scheme - 5% employer-matched contribution\n\nLife assurance - 4x your basic salary\n\nEnhanced maternity package\n\nHealth & Wellbeing\nHealthPartners cashback scheme - Reclaim costs on prescriptions, physiotherapy, dental care, and more\n\nOnsite facilities - Restaurant, nursery, and free parking, including at-cost EV charging points\n\nCareer Development\nLearning & development - Free access to BRE Academy and our online learning platform\n\nProfessional membership reimbursement\n\nFor full details on our benefits, visit: BRE Employee Benefits\nWork Location Options\nHybrid - This role offers a mix of home and office working.
