Be you ... be here.\nJob Summary\nThe Staff Cyber Security Engineer is a senior individual contributor who will provide technical leadership in the design and advancement of cyber security solutions across complex environments. This role will lead cross-team security initiatives, influence architectural decisions, and address elevated security risks through deep technical expertise and collaboration.Demonstrated expertise in AI Detection & Response (AIDR) and AI Security Posture Management (AISPM). Leads the design and implementation of security strategies for AI and machine learning ecosystems, including threat detection, model security, adversarial attack mitigation, and risk management. Proven ability to build scalable security programs that protect AI applications, data pipelines, and cloud environments while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational resilience.\nEssential Job Functions\nDesign and implement resilient security controls across infrastructure, cloud, and application environments; address complex threat scenarios and incorporate emerging cybersecurity and technology trends. - (40%)\n\nLead security initiatives across multiple teams; provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to engineers and security practitioners. - (25%)\n\nLeads investigation and response to complex security incidents; drive root cause analysis and long-term risk remediation. - (15%)\n\nContribute to development and refinement of security standards, patterns, and controls aligned with risk and business objectives. - (10%)\n\nPartner with engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to embed security into system design and delivery. - (10%)\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering; or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience\n\n8+ years of experience working in cybersecurity, security operations, IAM, PAM, cyber defense, or related technical roles.\n\nDemonstrated experience designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across infrastructure, cloud, and application environments.\n\nProven ability to lead complex technical work, operate independently, and influence security outcomes across multiple teams.\n\n Preferred Qualifications\nMaster’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering; or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience\n\nPossession of industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, and/or cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security)\n\n10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security operations, IAM, PAM, cyber defense, or related technical domains.\n\n2+ years of experience applying frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 for LLM applications, MITRE ATLAS, and NIST AI Risk Management.\n\n2+ years of experience focused on securing AI/ML environments and other emerging technologies.\n\nKnowledge of AI security tooling, model monitoring, AI governance platforms, and AI-specific security controls.\n\nSkills\nArtificial Intelligence Strategy\n\nArtificial Intelligence Technologies\n\nMITRE ATT&CK Framework\n\nThreat Modeling\n\nTeamwork\n\nSecurity Automation\n\nCloud Security Architecture\n\nCybersecurity\n\nSecurity Framework\n\nTeamwork\n\nCommunication\n\nSecurity Tools\n\nForward Thinking\n\nKnowledge and Abilities\nStrong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, behavioral analytics, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI agent architectures.\n\nExperience evaluating, integrating, and operationalizing commercial AI security platforms and emerging AI technologies.\n\nExperience designing cloud-native security architectures in Amazon Web Services and Azure environments.\n\nReports To: Manager and above\nDirect Reports: 0\nWork Environment\nNormal office environment. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year.
