{"id":1584370,"url":"https://alion.io/job/brenntag-maintenance-engineer","title":"Maintenance Engineer","company":{"id":453210,"name":"Brenntag","domain":"brenntag.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/brenntag-3","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":75,"open_postings":67,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":null,"computed_at":"2026-10-07T05:47:15Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Lutterworth, United Kingdom"],"countries":["GB"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":36000,"max_usd":67000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":737},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-07-14T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-07-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-08T01:23:37Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":86,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":86},"description":"Purpose of Position:\nEnsure safe, continuous and efficient running of site operations, plant equipment and all associated assets through scheduled routines.\nResponsibilities/ Accountabilities:\nResponsible for the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of the SHIRE Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring all site assets, maintenance schedules, statutory inspections and engineering records are accurately maintained.\n\nOverseeing maintenance contracts (i.e. Air compressors, Deionised Water plant and Effluent Plant etc), including scheduling any inspections with third party contractors.\n\nResponsible for repair/testing and records relating to site pressure containers, associated equipment ( hoses etc)\n\nSupervision of contractors when on site (via Permit to Work procedures).\n\nCarry out fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance and minor repairs to process plant, pumps, pipework, instrumentation and associated equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.\n\nSupport site operators and Operations Manager with regular site safety checks and calibrations in line with routine planned maintenance.\n\nManage and monitor the effluent treatment facility within the site consent limit.\n\nResponsibility for general buildings and site maintenance.\n\nUndertake any reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the appropriate line managers from time to time, related to the effective and efficient performance of the job, and providing they are within the post holders skills and ability.\n\nDue to the operational requirements of the site - role may feature elements of on call and emergency callout response by exception i.e. customer requirement, ship cargo deliveries\n\nLead or support capital and site improvement projects, including scope development, contractor coordination, installation, commissioning and project completion\n\nAct as Site Permit Controller, reviewing RAMS and issuing permits for maintenance, isolation, confined space entry and working at height activities.\n\nCarry out and manage mechanical, electrical and process isolations in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work.\n\nInvestigate equipment and process failures, undertake Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventative actions to improve plant reliability and performance.\n\nWorking with Site Manager to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, compliance, reliability and operational performance.\n\nExperience / Knowledge:\nChemical industry background on a COMAH facility- Preferred\n\nExperience in working in a Safety Driven environment - Essential\n\nExperience of utilising a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) - Essential.
