The role will manage projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company engineering and process safety standards.\nThe successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, proven project management capability, and experience delivering capital projects within industrial, chemical, manufacturing, or process environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Delivery\nLead capital investment and operational improvement projects from concept through to completion.\nDevelop project scopes, technical specifications, business cases, and project execution plans.\nPrepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.\nManage project risks and implement mitigation actions where required.\nCoordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors to achieve project objectives.\nEnsure successful commissioning, start-up, and project handover to operations.\nDeliver assigned projects safely, on time, and within budget.\nEngineering & Technical Support\nProduce and review engineering documentation including:\nTechnical specifications\nP&IDs\nPlant layout drawings\nEquipment specifications\nScope of Works\n\nProvide engineering support to operational and maintenance teams where required.\nSupport the strategic development of Brenntag UK & Ireland facilities.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives across operations.\nMaintain engineering standards and promote best practice.\nProcess Safety & Compliance\nEnsure all projects comply with company Project Management Framework, engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.\nSupport Management of Change (MOC) processes.\nParticipate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and design reviews.\nMaintain and improve records relating to Process Safety Critical Equipment (PSCE).\nPromote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) policies.\nEnsure engineering solutions are safe, practical, and sustainable.\nContractor & Supplier Management\nDevelop tender packages and obtain competitive quotations.\nEvaluate supplier and contractor proposals.\nManage contractors throughout project execution.\nMonitor contractor performance, quality, and compliance with site requirements.\nEnsure all contracted work is completed safely and to the required standard.\nFinancial Management\nPrepare and manage project budgets and expenditure forecasts.\nTrack capital expenditure against approved budgets.\nSupport purchase order creation, invoice approvals, and project financial reporting.\nDeliver projects within approved financial parameters.\nEssential Qualifications & Experience\nHND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.\nMinimum 3+ years' experience delivering engineering projects within manufacturing, chemical, industrial, logistics, or process environments.\nDemonstrable experience managing capital projects through the full project lifecycle.\nStrong understanding of project management principles including scope, cost, schedule, risk, and stakeholder management.\nExperience producing engineering specifications and technical documentation.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and layout drawings.\nExperience managing contractors and suppliers.\nProficient in Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning software.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nFull UK Driving Licence.\nDesirable Qualifications & Experience\nAPM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent recognised project management certification.\nExperience within chemical distribution, COMAH, manufacturing, or process industries.\nKnowledge of Management of Change (MOC) processes.\nHAZOP participation or facilitation experience.\nAutoCAD or equivalent CAD software proficiency.\nExperience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status or
