Engage. Empower.\nJob Description:\nGeneral:\nReceive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars. This work is physical and requires attention to detail as follows:\nManeuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses\n\nClimb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load\n\nInspect tanks, tankers and railcars before and after loading/unloading operations\n\nVerify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages\n\nProduct sampling and quality control in conjunction with lab personnel\n\nMaintain accurate receiving/shipping logs. Record amounts of product received or distributed via appropriate computer program\n\nPicking and staging product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions\n\nOperation of powered and manual industrial lift trucks (with certification) to transport product in the warehouse, and maintain daily forklift checklist\nMove raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse\n\nAbility to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distances\n\nAbility to stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking within operating areas and warehouses\n\nRepackage product into proper containers for storage or shipment. This work is physical and requires attention to detail:\nFill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations making sure of proper labelling, storing, stacking, or palletizing according to company and regulatory requirements\n\nGive special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items.\n\nOperate electronic scale and process devices\n\nCarefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations\n\nResponsibility for inventory\nExamine stored product and report deterioration and damage\n\nRearrange stored materials\n\nAssist in counting of physical inventory\n\nGeneral Maintenance\nEnsure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers\n\nWhen spills occur, responsible for immediate reporting and cleanup\n\nProtect property from theft or damage\n\nOther duties as assigned, including mixing and blending as required\n\nYour Profile\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.\n\nCandidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.\n\nPossess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification and demonstrate ability to operate a forklift safely.\n\nAbility to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.\n\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure\n\nAbility to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc. to carry out normal business operations.\n\nMeet or exceed production requirements based on information and or equipment used in the course of work performance\n\nWear safety equipment as prescribed by company\n\nComply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucks\n\nOther Job Requirements:\nParticipate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings\n\nMust be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift\n\nWillingness to work overtime or weekends as needed\n\nGood safety and attendance record\n\nAbility to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel\n\nObserve, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures\n\nMust pass pre-employment drug screen and background check\n\nMust pass E-verify check\n\nMust be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag.
