What you’ll do

Payment Partner Operations owns the operational foundation for Brex’s external partner ecosystem. You’ll define how we launch, manage, measure, and improve partner programs, from operating models and SLAs to reporting, fee reconciliation, issue management, and performance reviews.

You’ll work closely with Payment Partnerships, Operations, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and external partners to build scalable, well-controlled programs that deliver reliable outcomes for customers and the business.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our Sao Paulo office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities

• Define and own the operating model for partner management, including processes, decision rights, governance, documentation, and escalation paths.
• Establish partner SLAs, KPIs, reporting cadences, and performance-review mechanisms; hold internal and external stakeholders accountable to them.
• Build reporting that provides clear visibility into partner performance, operational health, volume, quality, incidents, risks, and opportunities.
• Own fee reconciliation and related controls, ensuring partner invoices, contractual terms, payment calculations, and internal records are accurate and resolved on time.
• Lead operational readiness for new partners, products, workflows, and program changes, including requirements, launch plans, testing, training, and post-launch monitoring.
• Manage partner incidents and escalations, coordinate root-cause analysis, and drive durable corrective actions.
• Identify process gaps and automation opportunities that improve partner experience, reduce manual work, and strengthen control quality.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Partnerships to resolve complex issues and translate partner needs into scalable operational solutions.
• Create executive-ready updates that synthesize performance, risks, financial impacts, and recommended actions.

What you’ll do

• 3+ years of experience in partner operations, payments operations, financial operations, vendor management, or a related role in fintech, banking, or another regulated environment.
• English proficiency/fluency, both written and speaking (note: interviews will be conducted in English)
• Demonstrated experience building operating programs, not just managing established workflows.
• Strong experience defining SLAs, KPIs, and governance structures and using them to improve external-partner performance.
• Experience with fee, invoice, or financial reconciliation processes, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using spreadsheets, data tools, SQL, or similar tools to build reporting and identify trends.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence senior internal and external partners.
• Sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-stakes situations.
• A builder mindset with a bias toward scalable processes, clear ownership, and AI-centric automation.

Bonus Points

• Experience in payment rails, banking partnerships, card networks, fintech infrastructure, or money movement.
• Experience managing third-party vendors or regulated financial-services partners.
• Experience with audit-ready controls, compliance requirements, and contractual-performance obligations.
• Experience applying AI or automation to reconciliation, reporting, quality assurance, or operational workflows.
