We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!\nWhat you'll do\nAs an Underwriting Analyst, your goal is to support our underwriting processes for our card products and grow your skills as a credit professional. This is a role that requires strong communication, time management, financial analysis, and teamwork. You will partner cross-functionally with our Sales, Customer Experience, Engineering, and Product teams to contribute to meeting organizational goals, and will have the opportunity to develop into more senior credit responsibilities over time.\nResponsibilities \nOwn and work assigned cash-based underwriting queues, including account reviews, limit changes, and credit-related requests.\nEvaluate customer creditworthiness and repayment capacity using bank statements, transaction data, cash-flow trends, and other business information.\nAnalyze cash balances, revenue, burn, runway, utilization, and transaction activity to identify evolving credit risk.\nMake sound, risk-based recommendations within delegated authority, balancing customer impact with responsible exposure management.\nClearly communicate underwriting decisions, rationale, and information requirements to internal partners and, when needed, customers.\nPartner with Sales, Customer Experience, Credit Policy, Risk, Data, Product, and Engineering to resolve complex cases and improve the end-to-end credit experience\nIdentify recurring issues and opportunities to improve underwriting quality, efficiency, and consistency.\nUse data, spreadsheets, and AI-enabled tools to streamline routine work and surface actionable insights.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to improve tools and workflows that support cash-based underwriting.\nRequirements\nPassionate about credit and underwriting decisions on commercial exposures for small to large businesses\nStrong analytical rigor and attention to details\nCustomer centric and passionate about thinking through customer needs and working with them while balancing risk exposures\nAbility to communicate technical problems in an elegant and tactful way\nBonus Points\nFamiliarity with quantitative credit risk models, probability of default (PD), and loss given default (LGD) concepts\nFamiliarity with underwriting or credit-risk tooling and workflows.\nExperience using SQL, Hex, spreadsheets, or similar tools to analyze data and identify trends.\nFamiliarity with banking regulations and global markets\nExperience using Salesforce or comparable case-management tools\nCompensation\nThe expected salary range for this role is $63,896-$79,870 CAD however, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity.
