We are a seed-stage neurotechnology company developing technology that has the potential to transform how we interact with the human brain.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a Hardware Engineering Intern to join Bridge for a six-month internship or co-op and help turn ideas into physical parts. Almost nothing we build can be bought, so we make our own as one-off or low-volume production, and you will work across all of it: design it, build it, test it, improve it.\nThis is a hands-on lab role with breadth: CAD in the morning, soldering in the afternoon, and Python scripting in between. We expect you to use AI coding tools to build automations and bespoke tools.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign and iterate parts in CAD, for example probe housings, mounts, fixtures, enclosures, and lab hardware.\n\nRun our 3D printers: dial in materials and profiles, manage the queue, and keep turnaround measured in hours.\n\nHelp build the automation around 3D printing and CNC, for example scripted slicing and job submission, print monitoring, and part tracking.\n\nHelp develop processes for low-volume part production, for example molding, casting, potting, bonding, and the jigs and fixtures those processes need.\n\nDo the work that makes hardware real: soldering, cable and harness assembly, and careful assembly of delicate parts.\n\nBuild test fixtures and benchtop setups, and help keep the lab organized and working.\n\nWrite Python to glue the shop together: automation, instrument control, data logging, and inventory tracking.\n\nWork directly with our imaging scientists and research team to understand how each part will actually be used.\n\nWho you are\nRequired\nEnrolled in a bachelor’s program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, in your junior year or later, or in a master’s program.\n\nAvailable full time for six months.\n\nWorking proficiency in CAD: parametric modeling, assemblies, and drawings.\n\nHands-on 3D printing experience, for example tuning, troubleshooting, and repair.\n\nComfortable soldering both boards and wire, and assembling precision hardware without breaking it.\n\nSome experience with Python: you can write a real script, for example file handling, an API call, or a serial interface.\n\nComfortable using AI coding tools to get to working tooling.\n\nA bias toward building, testing, and improving over designing to completion first.\n\nNice to have\nPCB layout experience, particularly in Altium.\n\nCNC machining experience, for example CAM programming, fixturing, and workholding.\n\nPersonal projects, a shop of your own, robotics or FSAE, or other evidence that you build things unprompted.\n\nWhat we offer\nSix months of hands-on ownership of the hardware this company runs on.\n\nMentorship from our engineers, and direct collaboration with our imaging scientists and research team.\n\nWork on a modality early enough that the tooling does not exist yet. Much of what you build will be the first of its kind.\n\nBridge Neurotech is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3235,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":1,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-28T02:14:21Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":54,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.727,"p_room":0.75,"age_days":23,"expected_fill_days":32,"reasons":["conf:1","win:late","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-11-05T05:54:30Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/bridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/bridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-06T03:25:35Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":5646,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-07T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":4445191},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=4445191"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fbridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fbridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fbridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/bridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fbridge-neurotech-hardware-engineering-intern"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3374292}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"bridgeneurotech.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3374292},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
