Because who you are is what we need.\nJob Category\nEngineering & SciencePosition Summary\nThis position is responsible for managing the construction process of new stores and special projects from inception to operations turnover. Also responsible for technical construction negotiations with developers, landlords, outside architects, and engineering consultants.This is a remote role with the candidate needing be located in the Southeast part of the US.\nBridgestone is committed to fair and lawful compensation practices. All employees receive pay that meets or exceeds the applicable minimum wage requirements.\n___\n Responsibilities\nParticipate in the negotiation of construction activities to establish the terms, milestone schedules, criteria, etc. incorporated as exhibits to various types of Agreements and projects.\nEstablish project schedule and adapt activities, when necessary, to meet construction related delivery dates.\nIdentify and qualify potential contractors for project use.\nManage the GC competitive bidding process through contract execution.\nMonitoring and enforcement of criteria compliance and quality control during all phases of construction.\nManage the flow of information related to construction activities between BSRO internal departments and external contractors, architects, engineers, developers, landlords, and AHJs.\nEnsure the timely and accurate review of documents throughout the budgeting, entitlement, jurisdictional approval, and construction process.\nReview and understand the scope and budgetary impact of outside contractor, architect and engineer activities related to code investigation, completion of plans, specifications, bidding and permitting.\nWhen applicable, act as the BSRO representative to building department and code officials.\nOrganize and conduct construction meetings and activities (i.e. project kickoff, pre-bid, pre-construction, site visits, etc.).\nCoordinate the turnover of new store projects to the Store Opening and Operations teams, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to store opening.\nSupport the Facilities team as needed with first year warranty or latent defect claims and repairs.\nResponsible for financial and document closeout of completed projects while ensuring audit compliance throughout the project.\n Minimum Qualifications\nBachelors required in engineering, architecture, or construction management.\n7+ years experience in multi site construction management.\nGeneral knowledge of all construction disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical) and ADA requirements.\nProven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.\nAn innovate, team-centric collaborator who understands there is more than one way to solve a problem.\nGeneral systems knowledge (CAD, Excel, Word)\nAbility to travel 50-75% - Approx. 45 weeks travel\nAbility to climb a ladder, lift up to 30lbs, and stand for several hours at a time.\nNice to have:\nExperience in greenfield development, design, and/or planning\nAt Bridgestone, you are Free to Be\nWe believe people can only provide superior service and quality to others when they feel safe bringing their chosen version of themselves to work.
