This position performs a variety of maintenance and repair work across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems while supporting the daily operations of the College's Facilities team.If you enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, and taking pride in maintaining high-quality facilities, we'd love to hear from you.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO Maintain Campus Building Systems:\nPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems throughout campus.\nTroubleshoot equipment issues and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.\nHelp ensure campus buildings remain safe, comfortable, and fully operational.\nHVAC Maintenance:\nService heating and cooling equipment, including air handlers and unit ventilators.\nReplace filters, belts, and other routine maintenance components.\nAdjust thermostats and controls to maintain efficient building comfort.\nElectrical Maintenance:\nTroubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems.\nReplace lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, breakers, and ballasts.\nAssist with inspections and maintenance of emergency electrical equipment.\nPlumbing Maintenance:\nRepair plumbing fixtures, valves, faucets, toilets, urinals, and water heaters.\nDiagnose and repair leaks and clear drain line blockages.\nPerform routine plumbing maintenance and minor system upgrades.\nSupport Facilities Operations:\nComplete work orders accurately and maintain detailed maintenance records.\nMaintain tools, equipment, and parts inventory.\nAssist contractors working on campus mechanical systems.\nParticipate in special event setup, snow removal, emergency response, and on-call rotations as needed.\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nTwo years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance, or a related building trades field.\nPractical knowledge of building maintenance systems, tools, and equipment.\nAbility to safely operate motorized equipment and power tools.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nValid Virginia driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nCompetitive salary\nComprehensive benefits package\nTuition benefits for eligible dependents\nGENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community.
