The Associate Platform Engineer will assist in building and maintaining robust, scalable, and efficient platforms that enable other Bridgeway teams to develop, test, and deploy applications seamlessly. This role combines aspects of software engineering, systems architecture, and operations, contributing to efforts that ensure the underlying infrastructure meets the needs of Bridgeway's applications and services. \nThis is a remote positionwith preference given to East Coast candidates. \nResponsibilities: \nAssist in the maintenance and monitoring of existing cloud infrastructure, helping keep it scalable, resilient, and efficient, with guidance from senior engineers.\nAssist in developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to provision and manage cloud resources.\nSupport the maintenance and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines, and help automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce the potential for human error.\nAssist in implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions, including system and application log retention and pipeline health.\nHelp perform regular system maintenance, updates, and patches, executing against Security-owned patch schedules and standards.\nRespond to basic issues and support tickets under guidance from more experienced peers, including Tier 2 escalations and auto-escalated alerts from the Tier 1 support team.\nContribute to the product and hosting triage runbooks used by the Tier 1 support team.\nAssist in root cause analysis and contribute to root-cause-analysis content for infrastructure incidents.\nSupport disaster recovery testing and help verify that backup software and configuration are enabled and healthy across systems.\nHelp identify opportunities to optimize system performance, resource utilization, and cloud/infrastructure costs.\nSupport the implementation of security measures, such as firewalls, access controls, and encryption, in line with security best practices and regulatory requirements.\nCollaborate with development, operations, and security teams to understand their needs and provide platform support.\nDocument procedures and workflows, and maintain records of configurations and changes, following Secure SDLC and SCRUM/Agile methodologies.\nParticipate in code reviews, mentorship, training, and paired programming sessions, and share learnings with peers.\nContribute to smaller projects with support from experienced peers.\nParticipate in the Tier 2 on-call rotation, providing timely response to infrastructure incidents outside regular business hours as needed.\nLeverage generative AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, improve solution quality, and accelerate delivery of business outcomes.\nRequirements: \n1+ years of professional engineering or IT operations experience with exposure to cloud infrastructure\nBasic understanding of cloud platforms\nFamiliarity with scripting languages\nBasic knowledge of version control systems\nExposure to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline tools\nBasic understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts (e.g., ECS, ACA, K8s, Docker)\nFamiliarity with Agile frameworks\nProficient communication and collaboration skills\nDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy\nEagerness to learn and adopt new technologies\nExperience using generative AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to improve productivity and deliver high-quality outcomes\nBachelors in Information Technology, Software Development, or
