Day-to-day, this role is execution-focused - administering benefits programs, managing compensation planning and the merit cycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving HR operations delivery. The Senior Manager serves as the team's go-to expert on compensation and benefits and operates as a collaborative thought partner to the VP, Human Capital on workforce investment decisions. \nThis position is remote with preference for East Coast candidates. Occasional travel <5%. \nResponsibilities: \nCompensation\nExecute Bridgeway's compensation philosophy, job architecture, and pay equity framework; serve as the organization's subject matter expert on total rewards and actively inform its evolution in partnership with the VP, Human Capital.\nLead the annual merit cycle end-to-end, including budget modeling, manager guidance, system configuration, and executive reporting.\nAnalyze compensation surveys; benchmark roles against the market to assess competitiveness and inform pay decisions at all levels.\nProvide compensation guidance for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers; partner closely with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners on offer recommendations.\nSupport the VP, Human Capital and Finance on total compensation budgeting, workforce cost modeling, and compensation analysis. \nBenefits\nLead benefits program strategy, design, and ongoing management - including self-funded health, welfare, retirement 401(k), and leave programs - ensuring programs are market-competitive, cost-effective, and fully compliant with applicable regulations.\nDrive the employee benefits experience end-to-end - open enrollment planning and execution, employee communications, system configuration, and carrier/vendor coordination.\nManage the benefits broker, TPA, stop-loss carrier, and 401(k) record keeper relationships and hold all benefits vendors accountable to service standards, contract terms, and deliverables.\nEnsure benefits and leave programs comply with applicable regulations, including ACA, ERISA, FMLA, and state-specific requirements. \nHR Operations \nProvide day-to-day leadership to the HR Operations function, ensuring high-quality, efficient service delivery across the employee lifecycle.\nDirectly manage, coach, and develop the HR Operations Specialist, setting clear performance expectations and supporting ongoing professional growth.\nManage HR regulatory compliance reporting obligations, including ACA filings, EEOC reporting, and IRS/DOL testing requirements.\nDrive HRIS data integrity standards and identify opportunities for system automation, integration, process improvement, and operational efficiency.\nDevelop, maintain, and continuously improve HR SOPs and process documentation across Total Rewards and HR Operations.\nAnalyze workforce cost, compensation equity, and benefits utilization data to surface actionable insights and inform strategic decisions.\nLead and contribute to human capital projects, including system implementations, program launches, policy updates, and organizational changes.\nLeverage generative AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, improve solution quality, and accelerate delivery of business outcomes.\nRequirements: \n5+ years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated depth in compensation program design, job architecture, market benchmarking, and incentive design\nProven experience managing a full benefits portfolio - including self-funded health plan administration, 401(k)/retirement plan administration, vendor and broker relationships, open enrollment execution, and regulatory compliance\nPrior experience managing or formally mentoring direct reports with a demonstrated commitment to developing others\nStrong analytical skills with proficiency in compensation data modeling; advanced Excel required\nExperience with ADP WorkforceNow (HRIS/payroll) and Lattice (performance management) strongly desired; prior experience with comparable platforms in both categories required\nSolid working knowledge of applicable regulations governing compensation and benefits, including FLSA, ACA, ERISA, FMLA, 401(k)/retirement compliance, and IRS/DOL requirements\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to advise and influence senior leaders with confidence and credibility\nOperates as a player-coach - executes hands-on with high autonomy while bringing enough strategic depth to serve as a credible thought partner to the VP, Human Capital\nHigh degree of discretion, integrity, and independent judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information\nExperience using generative AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to improve productivity and deliver high-quality outcomes\nBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related discipline required\nCCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) strongly preferred;
