We are unable to sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking a highly experienced Staff Applications Engineer with 10+ years of professional software engineering experience to provide deep technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and drive the design and execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining technical strategy, shaping architecture, establishing engineering best practices, and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions that support long-term business objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the architecture, design, and execution of large-scale, cross-team engineering initiatives from concept through production.\nDefine architectural standards, engineering principles, and reusable design patterns adopted across multiple product and platform teams.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers, influencing engineering excellence across the organization.\nLead architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering decision-making for mission-critical systems.\nTranslate long-term technology strategy into executable engineering roadmaps and technical initiatives.\nDrive improvements in scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability of critical applications and platforms.\nLead incident response for high-impact production issues and establish processes for continuous operational improvement.\nCollaborate closely with engineering leadership, product management, architects, and executive stakeholders to align technical strategy with business priorities.\nEstablish and maintain engineering best practices for software development, testing, documentation, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.\nConduct code reviews and contribute hands-on development to high-impact components where technical leadership is most valuable.\nRaise the engineering hiring bar by participating in technical interviews, mentoring interviewers, and improving hiring processes.\nRepresent engineering in cross-functional planning, prioritization, and roadmap discussions, helping stakeholders make informed technical decisions.\nAuthor and review architecture documents, technical RFCs, design specifications, and architecture decision records (ADRs) to create lasting technical documentation.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience leading large-scale, cross-functional engineering initiatives.\nProven success designing and delivering complex distributed systems, cloud-native applications, or large-scale enterprise platforms.\nDeep expertise in one or more areas including distributed systems, cloud platforms, microservices architecture, or large-scale data systems.\nStrong programming skills in at least one modern backend language such as Java, C#, Go, Python, or C++.\nExtensive experience with system architecture, software design patterns, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.\nDemonstrated experience mentoring senior engineers and providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams.\nStrong understanding of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading enterprise-scale platform modernization or digital transformation initiatives.\nPublic technical contributions such as conference presentations, open-source projects, technical blogs, or published papers.\nHands-on experience operating and supporting high-scale production systems.\nExperience influencing engineering organizations, technology strategy, and software architecture across multiple teams.\nFamiliarity with FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and cost-aware engineering practices.\nExperience with Kubernetes, containerization, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nHow to Apply\nWould you like to learn more about this opportunity?
