Please apply only if you are confident in your technical abilities and hands-on experience.\n\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Technical Lead Engineer to provide deep technical leadership across multiple teams and drive the design and execution of complex, cross-cutting engineering initiatives. As a Staff engineer you will be a key technical voice in shaping architecture, raising the engineering bar, and helping the organization deliver ambitious technical roadmaps. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical depth with strong organizational judgment, and will be comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and hands-on execution. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions, and will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and execution of large, complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.\n\nDevelop architectural standards and reference patterns adopted across multiple engineering teams.\n\nMentor senior engineers and influence the technical direction of the organization.\n\nLead detailed technical design reviews and architectural decision-making for high-impact initiatives, ensuring designs are well-scoped, trade-offs are made explicit, and outcomes are documented for future reference.\n\nOperate at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating long-term goals into concrete engineering plans.\n\nDrive significant improvements in reliability, scalability, and performance of critical platforms.\n\nLead production incident response and post-incident learning for major issues.\n\nPartner with engineering managers, product, and executives on technical roadmaps.\n\nSet and uphold the engineering hiring bar through technical interviews, structured calibration, and contributions to recruiting initiatives that grow the team without diluting quality.\n\nContribute hands-on code where most leveraged, focusing on high-impact components.\n\nDrive engineering culture, including code quality, documentation, and operational rigor.\n\nRepresent engineering in cross-functional planning, prioritization, and roadmap discussions, helping product, design, and business stakeholders make informed decisions grounded in real technical trade-offs.\n\nAuthor and review technical RFCs, architecture decision records, and design documents that crystallize key technical decisions and create durable institutional memory across the engineering organization.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.\n\nEight or more years of professional software engineering experience.\n\nProven track record of leading complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.\n\nDeep expertise in at least one of distributed systems, cloud platforms, or large-scale data systems.\n\nStrong programming skills in at least one major backend language.\n\nExcellent system-design and architecture skills.\n\nDemonstrated mentorship and technical leadership of senior engineers.\n\nStrong understanding of operational excellence, reliability, and observability.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nTrack record of influencing engineering culture and standards.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience driving multi-year platform modernization initiatives.\n\nPublic technical contributions (talks, papers, OSS) in relevant areas.\n\nHands-on experience operating large-scale production systems.\n\nExposure to building engineering organizations as well as platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with FinOps and cost-aware engineering practices.\n\nHow to Apply\nWould you like to know more about this opportunity?\nFor immediate consideration, please send your resume to or contact us at (908) 505-3544.
