BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 4,500 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest.\nSchedule: 5:45AM - 6:15PM\n$24-$40/hr\nLevel 1: $24-27\nLevel 2: $28-36\nLevel 3: $37-40\nJob purpose / summary / objective\nEnsures all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Complies with protocols and documentation related to OSHA and food safety. Will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated material handling and greenhouse equipment. You will use preventive and predictive maintenance processes, and rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service to support the successful operation of the facility. You will work with other technicians to solve problems, validate quality of work, optimize material handling equipment, software, and systems. You will collaborate with the Facility Manager and other technicians to perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures. You may also assist in training other maintenance technicians and technician trainees to enhance their technical skills and job knowledge.\nGeneral Knowledge and Skills\nUnderstanding of general maintenance processes and methods\nConduct maintenance and troubleshooting of some industrial robots.\nAbility to properly document Work Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)\nExperienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.\nMust understand basic electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems. \nWillingness to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.\nFollow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards.\nOperate company vehicles to complete maintenance activities on the exterior of the facility and within the truck yard, as well as travel to nearby facilities and local stores to procure parts and supplies.\nPerforms all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeeping.\nCapable of working at heights from ladders, and scaffolding in a safe manner.\nCapable of operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (fork truck, aerial lift, etc.) Willing to be certified through Bright Farms Training\nMust be able to work overtime if required.\nWork efficiently and effectively with supervision in a team environment.\nFamiliar with basic machine shop equipment (ex: lathes and mills).\nDuties/Responsibilities\nRepairs or replaces defective electrical, plumbing, or mechanical components.\nMaintain and troubleshoot all electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including conveyor systems, packaging equipment, palletizers, etc.\nDisassembles, replaces, or repairs mechanical and electrical components.\nMaintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, encoders, etc.\nTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, software, and Programmable Logic Controls\nProvide technical assistance when problems are encountered.\nAssist with the installation and maintenance of electrical control systems and equipment.\nMaintain electrical, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.\nKnow and understand method and sequence of operations for troubleshooting and testing equipment.\nFamiliar with basic wiring diagrams, symbols, blueprints, and electrical measuring\nAbility to troubleshoot basic Input/Output functions Preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.\nFamiliar with industrial controls, electronics, conveyance, systems, and pneumatic\nQualifications\nHigh School diploma or GED\n3-5 years of trade school, or equivalent military/work experience\nAbility to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as required.\nClimb steps.\nLift 50 pounds and maintain balance.\nAbility to perform duties in extreme varying temperatures.\nCrawl over, under and into equipment within company LOTO procedures as necessary to perform job duties.\nWork from ladders and lifts.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate degree in a technical or industrial field.\nFood or agriculture industry experience\nUnderstanding of advanced industrial electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V.\nKey Values & Characteristics of Candidates:\nAuthentically Green. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Work near moving mechanical parts including in the vicinity of occasional high noise environments is required.\nPhysical requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
