Do you have a City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade?\nIf so, we’d welcome your application to work within our busy Housing Repairs and Maintenance Service.\nFor an informal discussion, please contact Dave Hall, Project Manager - \nAbout the role\nYou will carry out high-standard multi trade repairs and refurbishment activities for our residents’ homes, delivering high customer service and meeting all safety, quality and cost control standards.\nYou will mainly be working in occupied properties within the Brighton and Hove area either on your own or in a small team. The key tasks will be:\nTracing and repairing leaks.\nCarrying out repairs to plumbing installations such as bath, sinks, basins and WCs.\nCarrying out repairs to doors and windows (wooden and UPVC)\nRepairs and maintenance of wall and floor finishes such as patch plastering, tiling, storm boarding and sheet flooring (not floor coverings).\nCarrying out repairs/maintenance and partial replacements to kitchens.\nMaintenance and replacement of ironmongery.\nEmergency response to make properties safe/secure and gaining entry.\nMaking good to finishes including caulk/sealant, paint, stain, varnish and other finishes.\n\nOur residents come from a variety of backgrounds and some are vulnerable so you will need to be comfortable interacting with a wide range of people.\nOur team members say they enjoy working in Housing Repairs because “Every day is completely different, we really get a chance to help people from the local community and it feels great to have made a difference at the end of the day”.\nIn return for your skills and hard work, we offer:\nA defined working week of 37 hours per week plus 5.5 hours of contracted overtime (Monday - Friday 08.00 - 17.00)\nThe opportunity to take on additional call out shifts if you want to\nA full induction with job shadowing and on-going development\nYour own allocated fleet vehicle for work use\nPaid annual leave\nPension scheme\n\nEncouraging a diverse workforce\n Our city is known and loved for its diversity.
