While we are growing rapidly, we are also selective: We’re seeking inspired, talented people who want to be effecting profound change and who have fun doing it.\nPosition Summary\nThis position requires professional level accounting work in the areas of accounting, financial transactions, and financial contract administration; examines, analyzes, maintains, reconciles and verifies complex financial records; prepares mandated state, federal and county financial reports. Primary responsibilities require the ongoing monitoring of corporate fund statements for erroneous issues and resolution of accounting problems/errors, preparation of timely invoices for disbursement of grant/contract funds; support budget production for corporate and grants & contracts; and functioning as liaison internally as well as externally for all corporate cost centers.\nThe Accounting Supervisor will report directly to the Controller and will work closely with a team of accountants. This position will be supervising a Staff Accountant. The candidate is required to maintain a collaborative working relationship with Brilliant Corners Managers and other related personnel. Successful performance of the work requires considerable knowledge of accounting principles as well as GAAP and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines.\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nManage accounts receivable accounting staff\nResponsible for corporate monthly close of all corporate cost centers, ensuring that internal and external monthly reporting is timely and accurate\nResponsible for financial administration of program-based monthly, quarterly, and annual billing and reporting\nResponsible for financial administration of concurrent funding both public and private with various payment methods, compliance and reporting requirements and deadlines\nExtract accounting data to facilitate the timely billing and collection of receivables, verifying compliance and accuracy.\nAssist in the financial closeout process of completed projects and ensure that all pending financial issues are resolved, and necessary information is provided.\nPrepare reporting on restricted & unrestricted funds for departments, and for management to track the availably and utilization of funds.\nPrepare funder invoicing, address funder inquiries, and perform funder invoice analysis.\nSupport accounts receivable efforts including recording invoicing, deposits, donations, AR aging, write-offs, collection efforts, and cash projections.\nPrepare bank reconciliations and perform general ledger reclasses.\nCross train with Payroll, Properties and staff accountants to support as needed.\nOther duties as by the Controller. \nRequirements\nProfessional Experience\nThorough understanding of GAAP requirements.\nAnalytical and detail oriented yet able to look at the whole picture to meet deadlines.\nAbility to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities and function independently and as a team member.\nHigh degree of discretion and excellent judgment.\nExcellent interpersonal and business communication skills, both written and verbal and strict adherence to confidentiality.\nUnderstanding of concepts, principles and practices of funding agency relations and compliance requirements as well as donor expectations regarding gift stewardship.\nExcellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, databases, etc.).\nAbility and willingness to contribute to the high functioning of the Finance Team.\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or three years full cycle non-profit fund accounting experience, preferred but not required.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nLANGUAGE SKILLS: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical publications, government contracts, leases, regulatory documents, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write reports that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, boards of directors, and public groups.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, and area. Ability to apply basic math and geometry concepts to practical situations. Facility with Microsoft Excel and ability to use a financial calculator.\nREASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.\nSalary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,0000 annually.
