BRINC is recruiting exceptional engineers to build the next generation of autonomous emergency-response technology, including flight-critical firmware and advanced pilot-assistance capabilities.\nAbout this Role:\nWe are looking for an R&D Technician to support the development, testing, and refinement of our cutting-edge drones and public safety products. In this role, you will work hands-on with prototypes, conduct experiments, troubleshoot hardware issues, and collaborate closely with engineers to bring innovative concepts to life. Your expertise in electronics assembly, fabrication, testing, and problem-solving will be critical in accelerating product development and ensuring high-quality performance in real-world conditions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components for drones and other public safety products.\n\nConduct experiments and performance tests, collecting and analyzing data to support R&D initiatives.\n\nWork closely with engineers to refine prototypes, provide feedback, and iterate on designs.\n\nOperate and maintain lab equipment, tools, and test rigs to support development efforts.\n\nDocument test results, procedures, and findings to improve product design and reliability.\n\nAssist with component fabrication using techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and soldering.\n\nSupport field testing, including setup, monitoring, and data collection.\n\nEnsure safety protocols and best practices are followed in all R&D activities.\n\nQualifications:\n2+ years of hands-on experience in a hardware R&D or prototyping environment.\n\nStrong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting techniques.\n\nExperience with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, and power tools.\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.\n\nPreferred Skills\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\n\nExperience working with UAVs, robotics, or autonomous systems..\n\nKnowledge of material properties, adhesives, and fasteners for hardware development.\n\nExperience with environmental and stress testing for ruggedized hardware.\n\nBRINC Culture Values:\nTry the hard stuff\n\nBe innovative - Invent the future\n\nMove fast\n\nListen to end-users\n\nStrive for excellence\n\nDon’t build a dystopia\n\nBe frugal\n\nSave lives through technology\n\nIf you’re interested in this role and in joining BRINC, we hope you’ll apply.
