BRINC is recruiting exceptional engineers to build the next generation of autonomous emergency-response technology, including flight-critical firmware and advanced pilot-assistance capabilities.\nAbout this Role:\nAs the Senior Accounting Manager at BRINC, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the day-to-day accounting function and work closely with others on the finance & operations team as well as other departments to maintain accurate financial records, analyze & report data, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes. You will own the preparation for our first audit. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a startup in scale up mode and create accounting processes from the ground up.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, payroll processing, and revenue recognition, ensuring proper documentation of conclusions in accordance with ASC 606 for all subscription, hardware, and service arrangements.\n\nLead audit readiness and coordinate the company’s first financial statement audit, including preparation of work papers, schedules, and auditor requests.\n\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.\n\nManage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.\n\nOversee overall tax compliance, including federal, state, local, sales, and payroll taxes, and partner with external tax advisors to coordinate annual filings and other applicable requirements.\n\nDrive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance function.\n\nAssist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning efforts.\n\nSupport cross-functional teams on ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed.\n\nOversee inventory and cost accounting, including work in process, finished goods, and cost of goods sold.\n\nDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a high-growth organization.\n\nEvaluate and implement scalable accounting systems and automation tools, including the company’s future ERP environment.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred\n\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience\n\nExperience working in a fast-paced startup environment, combined with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing operations\n\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in financial reporting\n\nDemonstrated experience managing an audit process, including selection of and interaction with external auditors\n\nHands-on experience implementing financial systems (AR/AP tools or an ERP) to streamline finance & accounting operations\n\nAbility to leverage AI tools and automated workflows to optimize accounting operations, enhance variance analysis, and drive close/reporting efficiencies\n\nExpert in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite) and proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets\n\nProficient in SaaS subscription management/AR software\n\nExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate informed recommendations across multiple stakeholders\n\nDetail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting\n\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience in people management/team mentorship\n\nBRINC Culture Values:\nTry the hard stuff\n\nBe innovative - Invent the future\n\nMove fast\n\nListen to end-users\n\nStrive for excellence\n\nDon’t build a dystopia\n\nBe frugal\n\nSave lives through technology\n\nIf you’re interested in this role and in joining BRINC, we hope you’ll apply.
