BRINC is recruiting exceptional engineers to build the next generation of autonomous emergency-response technology, including flight-critical firmware and advanced pilot-assistance capabilities.\nAbout this Role:\nWe are seeking an experienced embedded software engineer. In this role you will design and develop on-device software for BRINC’s entire hardware product line, including indoor and outdoor drones, hand-held remote controllers, robotic drone nests, and a variety of support equipment & accessories.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwn end-to-end software development - from specification to design, implementation, testing, and product support. Write high-quality flight ready code (primarily in C/C++).\n\nEstablish top-level design architectures and implementation methodologies for the team. Clearly communicate decisions with internal stakeholders. Document contributions in a revision-controlled environment.\n\nWork collaboratively with electrical, mechanical, perception, controls, test and manufacturing engineers.\n\nWork closely with customers by debugging issues in the field, incorporating end user feedback, and supporting new product deployments.\n\nQualifications:\n5+ years of industry experience developing software for devices\n\nExperience with C, C++, Python and related programming and scripting languages\n\nExperience working in a fast-paced technical environment\n\nExperience developing and optimizing for embedded systems, in linux environment\n\nExperience working with standard embedded interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.)\n\nExperience developing software for a range of compute hardware (SoC, MCU, etc.)\n\nExperience bringing up and testing new hardware in collaboration with other engineers\n\nExperience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)\n\nBachelors or Masters of Science in Computer Science or related degree\n\nPreferred Skills\n7+ years of experience developing software for Aerospace, Robotics, Automotive, Consumer Electronics, or related industries\n\nExperience interfacing to displays, cameras, and other perception sensors (MIPI, etc.)\n\nExperience working with Yocto\n\nExperience developing HDL (Verilog, VHDL) for FPGAs with specific experience on video processing pipelines\n\nExperience developing software for flight control, navigation, and autonomy applications\n\nExperience developing software for embedded radio systems\n\nExperience developing software for localization systems (GNSS, etc.)\n\nStrong skills in debugging, performance optimization and unit testing\n\nAbility to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements\n\nAbility to work independently and in teams, take initiative, and communicate effectively\n\nExperience developing software solutions for UAV/UAS used in commercial, industrial, or defense applications\n\nBRINC Culture Values:\nTry the hard stuff\n\nBe innovative - Invent the future\n\nMove fast\n\nListen to end-users\n\nStrive for excellence\n\nDon’t build a dystopia\n\nBe frugal\n\nSave lives through technology\n\nIf you’re interested in this role and in joining BRINC, we hope you’ll apply.
