Lead civil design from conceptual development through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and project closeout. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible civil works in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, schedules, budgets, and project requirements.\nJob Duties/Responsibilities:\nLead civil engineering design for oil and gas facilities and infrastructure from conceptual design through project closeout.\nDevelop and review grading, drainage, road, paving, underground utility, stormwater, wastewater, culvert, building, and site infrastructure designs.\nDevelop and review civil foundation layouts, equipment foundation requirements, concrete slabs, earthwork, and related site improvements.\nPrepare and review engineering calculations, design criteria, specifications, drawings, technical reports, quantities, material take-offs, and cost estimates.\nInterpret geotechnical reports and apply soil parameters to foundation and civil designs.\nCoordinate civil requirements with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, construction, and other engineering disciplines.\nEvaluate site conditions, brownfield and greenfield constraints, constructability, existing facilities, and project risks.\nReview vendor drawings, contractor submittals, RFIs, technical queries, and construction documents.\nProvide field engineering support, conduct site inspections, resolve civil issues, and participate in construction and technical review meetings.\nEnsure compliance with applicable API, ACI, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, NFPA, OSHA, project, and local or regional requirements.\nParticipate in HAZOP, constructability, design, value-engineering, safety, and risk-assessment reviews as required.\nCoordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers; monitor progress against schedule, budget, quality, and technical requirements.\nMentor civil engineers and designers and support commissioning, startup, and closeout activities.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline\n\nExperience:\n\nTypically 8-12+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, LNG, chemical, or heavy industrial facilities; EPC/EPCM experience highly desirable\n\nLicensure:\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional registration preferred\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nIndustrial site development, foundations, concrete, grading, drainage, roads, paving, underground utilities, geotechnical interpretation, constructability, and field execution\nProficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, or equivalent civil design software, as project needs require\n\nLeadership:\n\nExperience leading civil engineering activities, coordinating across disciplines, working with clients and contractors, and mentoring engineers and designers\n\nOther Skills:\n\nStrong technical writing, communication, coordination, problem-solving, quality-control, project-planning, and HSSE awareness skills\n\nProfessional Development Opportunities:\nLead major civil work packages for refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG facilities, terminals, pipelines, and other industrial projects\nExpand expertise in brownfield and greenfield project execution, heavy industrial foundations, and equipment support systems\nDevelop discipline-lead, project-planning, estimating, technical-specification, and document-control capabilities\nWork with international engineering standards and multidisciplinary or multinational project teams\nProvide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to civil engineers, designers, and engineering technicians\nIndividual field assignments typically each have their own unique requirements. Prior to deployment on any field assignment, you must be able to meet all client-specific site requirements. Should you be unable or unwilling to meet assignment-specific requirements, your continued employment would then be subject to the availability of other assignments whose requirements can be met. These unique requirements may include:\nYou must possess physical mobility (on the ground and at heights).\nYou may be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.\nYou may be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection. \nYou must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing the appropriate PPE. This may include but not be limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots. \nYou may be required to position yourself to work in confined spaces\nYou may be required to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.\nYou may be required to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.\nPay Range: $140,000 - $185,000 annually\nThe above pay range represents a general guideline; however, Brindley considers several factors when determining base salary that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, certifications, specific work location, and current market conditions.
