This position will participate in all activities required to source, pursue and build a project including cost estimation, contract administration, schedule management and risk-quality management. Our passion is building.\nResponsibilities\nIdentify and pursue new business development opportunities including maintaining positive client relationships to leverage future repeat business\nPrepare full cost estimates including quantity take-offs and pricing\nParticipate in bid solicitation, bid package preparation and analysis\nAssist in preparation of general contract and subcontract administration\nPrepare permit applications\nMaintain updated construction documents including as-builts\nManage and process shop drawings and submittals\nCoordinate material and equipment procurement and expediting\nFacilitate the RFI process\nDocument project coordination meetings for distribution\nMonitor project schedules to ensure adherence to key dates\nInitiate, review and negotiate change orders\nOversee entire close-out process including creation and completion of punch list\nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. civil, architectural, or construction), construction management or related field\n0-2 years' experience in the construction industry\nAbility to travel/temporarily relocate for job assignments\nAbility to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules\nAbility to understand and solve complex challenges in order to present alternative solutions\nDemonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills\nExcellent communication skills - both written and verbal\nProficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office\nKey success factors include passion for the industry, self-motivated, strong work ethic, time management, organized, detail-oriented and creative\nMust be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future\nWorking Conditions\nThe Project Engineer’s work is primarily performed indoors out of a main office or field office at the construction site; occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions with some exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level may range from moderate to loud.\nLight physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and some standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearing.\nConstruction site will change or vary and/or position may require travel.\nEnvironment will be demanding and fast paced; number of hours typically worked in a workweek may exceed 40 hours per week and often “on call” 24 hours a day.\nPosition requires frequent, high-level of autonomy as it relates to decision-making that impacts company results.\nAt Brinkmann Constructors, our passion for people means investing in their financial, mental, and physical well-being.
