Bristol Myers Squibb is an American pharmaceutical company whose predecessors date to 1858 and 1887 and which took its present form in a 1989 merger. Its portfolio is concentrated in oncology, haematology, immunology and cardiovascular disease, including the checkpoint inhibitor Opdivo, the blood thinner Eliquis co-marketed with Pfizer, the cell therapies acquired with Celgene, and newer products such as the schizophrenia treatment Cobenfy. Headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it faces a heavy sequence of patent expiries and has been buying and licensing assets to replace them.

At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”-a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Lead Cell Therapy Site Management, the Senior Cell Therapy Site Manager (m/w/d) has the overall responsibility for driving the commercial success, strategic product positioning and differentiation of BMS CAR T products in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving market environment. With three approved indications, the role requires a strong commercial focus, deep disease-area understanding and the ability to translate scientific and market dynamics into impactful account strategies across the region with the objective of strengthening appropriate customer engagement, supporting effective account development and contributing to BMS’ leadership ambition in cell therapy. Given the time-critical nature of CAR T treatment pathways, the role requires excellent prioritization, fast execution, strong peer-to-peer engagement capabilities and close cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities (will include, but are not limited to, the following)

  • Drive the commercialization of BMS CAR T products across three approved indications by translating brand strategy, competitive dynamics and account insights into clear regional priorities and impactful customer engagement.
  • Ensure strong product positioning and differentiation in a highly competitive class environment, with a focus on brand choice, market share development and sustainable adoption across CAR T centers and referring hemato-oncology networks.
  • Build, maintain and strategically develop trusted relationships with academic advocates, key opinion leaders and relevant decision makers at CAR T centers.
  • Expand engagement beyond CAR T centers by actively developing networks to support the patient journey.
  • Design and execute high-quality peer-to-peer engagement formats, including regional round tables, expert exchanges and scientific-commercial discussion platforms.
  • Manage time-critical customer and account priorities with a strong sense of urgency, ensuring fast internal alignment and focused execution where patient pathways require immediate action.
  • Develop and implement strategic CAR T account plans in close cooperation with internal local cluster teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Act as a strong team player and cross-functional partner, contributing commercial insights, customer feedback and regional priorities to ensure a consistent “One Team, One Voice” approach.
  • Establish BMS as a trusted and leading partner in cell therapy through differentiated customer engagement, strong scientific-commercial dialogue and consistent delivery against commercial priorities.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Strong identification with BMS values and a collaborative, patient-focused mindset.
  • Strong experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, preferably in commercial, sales, marketing or strategic account management roles.
  • Deep hematology/oncology understanding, including the ability to engage confidently on scientific and clinical topics.
  • Strong expertise in product positioning, class expansion, competitive differentiation, brand choice and market development in complex specialty-care environments.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain high-value relationships with academic advocates, key opinion leaders and referring hemato-oncologists.
  • High level of expertise in designing, leading and leveraging peer-to-peer engagement formats such as round tables, expert exchanges and regional scientific-commercial forums.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to act with urgency in time-critical situations.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate customer insights into actionable account strategies.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills in German and English.
  • Skilled team player with a collaborative mindset and proven ability to contribute effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit, resilience and the ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-changing and highly competitive environment.

We hire for skills and capabilities, not just credentials - if this role excites you, but doesn’t perfectly match your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
