This position is responsible for leading critical aspects of the book close process, ensuring integrity of financial reporting, and driving continuous process improvement across Britebound’s growing multi-entity organization.\nThe Senior Accountant partners closely with various internal stakeholders and external accounting providers, auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with sound business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.\nWhat You'll Do:\n Financial Close & ReportingLead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, in collaboration with third-party accounting service providers and members of Finance team.\nPrepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules while identifying and resolving accounting issues\nEnsure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (both for-profit and nonprofit accounting standards)\nPartner with FP&A to investigate significant variances and explain financial results\n\nTreasury ManagementManage day-to-day treasury activities, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and other banking transactions with appropriate controls\nMaintain and manage banking relationships, including account setup, maintenance, and service optimization\nMonitor and forecast cash balances across accounts and entities, ensuring adequate funding and efficient cash utilization\n\nTax CompliancePartner with external tax advisors to prepare and review the organization’s Form 990 and related filings\nPrepare supporting schedules, documentation, and analysis to support tax compliance requirements\nSupport compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including sales and use taxes\n\nAudit & ComplianceServe as a key accounting liaison with external auditors during the annual audit process\nPrepare financial statements including footnote disclosures, audit schedules, supporting documentation, and respond to auditor inquiries\nSupport implementation of audit recommendations and the strengthening of internal controls\n\nSubsidiary SupportCollaborate with accounting and finance teams across subsidiaries to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures\nSupport subsidiary accounting activities, including consolidations, transfer pricing, and financial/tax reporting\nSupport business combination, acquisition accounting, and post-acquisition integration\n\nPolicies & ProceduresResearch complex accounting and tax matters, prepare technical accounting memoranda, and document accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.\nDevelop, document, and maintain accounting and treasury policies and procedures\nEnsure adherence to internal controls and governance standards\nContinuously improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy\n\nAbout You:\n5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience\nExperience operating within a multi-entity organizational structure preferred\nBackground in nonprofit accounting and tax (Form 990) a plus\nFamiliarity with treasury management and cash controls a plus\nExposure to business combinations and consolidations a plus\nWorking knowledge of investment accounting a plus\nProficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel\nComfortable leveraging AI and other technology tools to drive efficiency\nAble to translate numbers into a clear, compelling narrative\nDemonstrates strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise\nBrings sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities\nExercises sound professional judgment and business acumen\nCommunicates and collaborates effectively across all levels\nDetail-oriented with a highly organized approach to work\nThrives in a dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines with ease\nSalary Range: $94,900 - $118,000\nBritebound is committed to fair and transparent pay. In determining compensation, we consider a variety of job-related factors, including prior experience, certifications and licenses, skills and expertise, geographic location, and internal equity. \nWe take a total compensation approach, meaning we look beyond salary alone to support, reward, and recognize the whole individual.
