Role Purpose

To support the delivery of the Global Operations people and culture agenda by coordinating and implementing culture, wellbeing, and engagement initiatives across the workforce. The role ensures that agreed programmes, frameworks, and campaigns are effectively rolled out to teams, tailored to operational needs, and embedded at all levels of the organisation.

The postholder acts as a key link between the central culture and engagement strategy and frontline operations, ensuring consistency, visibility, and accountability in how Global Operations builds engagement, wellbeing, and recognition for its people.

Main Accountabilities:

Service Delivery

Coordinate the delivery of culture, wellbeing, and recognition initiatives across Global Operations teams.

Ensure tools, resources, and communications are available and accessible to all staff.

Provide operational input into the design of new engagement or wellbeing programmes.

Relationship & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the day-to-day contact point for managers and staff on engagement and wellbeing activities.

Build relationships with regional/country managers to tailor delivery approaches to local needs.

Work closely with HR and Communications to align messages and campaigns.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

Monitor potential risks to workforce morale, engagement, and wellbeing and escalate to the Operations Engagement Lead.

Ensure initiatives are delivered in line with organisational policies and frameworks.

Analysis & Reporting

Gather and analyse feedback from staff and managers on engagement and wellbeing activities.

Contribute data and insights to inform the Operations Engagement Lead’s reporting on KPIs.

Track delivery progress and uptake of initiatives in different regions.

Leadership & Management

Provide guidance and support to managers on embedding engagement and wellbeing practices.

Champion organisational values and behaviours through day-to-day delivery.

Support networks, forums, and engagement groups that foster inclusion and wellbeing.

About You (essential requirements for the role):

  • The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent experience; relevant fields of study may include Business, Organisational Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Human Resources, Change Management or Communications.
  • Experience of coordinating culture, engagement, or wellbeing programmes in a large, complex organisation.
  • Understanding of workforce engagement challenges in a global or multi-site operational context.
  • Experience of supporting communication and engagement campaigns.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate campaigns and initiatives across multiple geographies.
  • Skilled in gathering and interpreting feedback to inform action.
  • Knowledge of employee engagement, wellbeing, or HR practices.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Certification Professional qualification - Project management

Pay Band: 7 F

Contract type: Indefinite Contract

Gross annual salary: £32,381 (Plus an additional £3,300 per annum London Market Allowance if you are based in the London area only)
