Role Purpose

Drive the effective planning, deployment, and coordination of workforce resources to support Teaching and Exams delivery. This role manages the contracting, scheduling, readiness, and availability of Venue Staff, Examiners, Teaching Assistants, and Teachers, while collaborating with delivery, academic, and workforce teams to ensure seamless operations, accurate workforce data, and an excellent delivery experience.

Main Accountabilities

Lead the effective coordination of workforce resources to support Teaching and Exams delivery, including the contracting, onboarding, scheduling, deployment, and performance monitoring of Venue Staff, Examiners, and Teaching Assistants. Support teacher contracting and scheduling in partnership with Academic and Delivery teams, while maintaining accurate workforce data to ensure operational readiness, compliance, deployment, and timely payments. Work closely with centralised and outsourced teams to coordinate scheduling, vetting, contracting, payroll processes, and workforce administration, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and cost-effective delivery.

Act as a key point of contact for workforce-related queries, providing clear guidance on onboarding, scheduling, and compliance requirements. Ensure all safeguarding, security, right-to-work, training, and vetting requirements are completed before deployment and that workforce records remain audit-ready. Collaborate with Delivery, Academic, HR, Finance, Planning and Registration teams to maintain high standards of exam security and teaching quality. Support workforce induction, training, communication, and temporary team management, while championing quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

• Experience coordinating secure, regulated service delivery (e.g. exams, logistics, events)
• Understanding of compliance, safeguarding or screening requirements
• Strong process management and organisational skills
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced delivery environment
• Experience supervising staff or contractors.
• Degree or equivalent experience.
• The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required

Desirable

• Knowledge of Teaching or Exams operations
• Experience working with shared services / outsourced delivery teams
• Lean Six Sigma qualification
