As part of our centre of excellence for High Voltage engineering, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of our electrical infrastructure while providing technical guidance and support to operational, maintenance and project teams.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to develop your High Voltage expertise within one of the UK's largest industrial environments while supporting projects that are helping shape the future of steel production.\nKey Responsibilities\nInclude but are not limited to:\nProviding technical support and guidance on High Voltage engineering matters to plant management, engineers and project teams.\nLeading, coaching and developing Team Leaders and craft personnel to ensure safe and effective delivery of maintenance activities.\nPlanning and coordinating routine maintenance, repairs and minor project work to minimise operational disruption and business risk.\nEnsuring all activities are carried out in accordance with High Voltage Safety Rules and company procedures.\nSupporting the safe operation, maintenance and reliability of the site's High Voltage distribution network.\nManaging maintenance activities delivered by internal teams, resident contractors and external specialist contractors.\nPromoting and reinforcing safe working practices through visible leadership and coaching.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and operational efficiency.\nSupporting fault diagnosis, breakdown response and restoration activities when required.\nParticipating in an out-of-hours standby rota to provide technical support for the site's High Voltage network.\nWhat we need to know about you\nWe're looking for an experienced electrical engineering professional with a passion for safety, reliability and continuous improvement.\nYou should be able to demonstrate:\nExperience working on High Voltage electrical distribution systems within an industrial, manufacturing, utilities, power generation or similar environment.\nStrong knowledge of High Voltage safety procedures and safe systems of work.\nExperience coordinating maintenance activities and supporting operational teams.\nThe ability to lead, coach and influence others whilst maintaining high safety and performance standards.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience working with contractors and specialist service providers.\nStrong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities.\nThe ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to operational challenges.\nExperience as an Authorised Person, Senior Authorised Person, or similar High Voltage responsibility holder would be advantageous but is not essential.\nWhat we can offer you\nWe know our employees are our greatest asset and alongside the great benefits packages we offer, we continue to invest in their careers by providing a huge range of training and development opportunities. \nWhatever your stage in life, you'll find a range of benefits to complement your work-life balance.
