It will maintain and build upon existing ISO 19011 audit capability while extending assurance from process conformity and management-system effectiveness into enterprise risk, governance, control effectiveness and organisational resilience.\nThe role will support the Chief Audit Executive in providing relevant and credible assurance to ARAC, the Board and Executive Committee.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain the risk-based enterprise audit programme, ensuring audit activity is traceable to strategic objectives, principal risks and material control requirements. \nPrioritise audit activity according to materiality, residual risk, strength of existing assurance and the needs of ARAC, the Board and Executive leadership. \nCoordinate the transition from the initial three assurance objectives - Protect People, Protect the Licence to Operate and Protect Steel Production - towards the wider seven-objective enterprise assurance model. \nLead and undertake complex or strategically significant audit engagements. \nPromote identification of root causes, systemic weaknesses, emerging themes and opportunities to improve effectiveness, efficiency and resilience. \nCoordinate appropriately with Risk Management, management-system audit teams, Compliance, Finance, HSE, Environment, Quality, Information Security, Business Continuity and other assurance providers. \nLead and develop Enterprise Audit Business Partners and seconded audit personnel.\nWhat we need to know about you\nSignificant experience of internal audit, assurance, governance, risk, compliance or equivalent activity within a large or complex organisation. \nDemonstrable ability to plan and lead risk-based audits. \nStrong understanding of governance, risk management and internal control. \nAbility to analyse complex information and distinguish material issues from routine process weaknesses. \nStrong stakeholder management skills, including confidence engaging senior executives. \nStrong report-writing and presentation capability. \nAbility to maintain independence while developing constructive relationships with management. \nExperience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary teams.\nWhat we can offer you\n We know our employees are our greatest asset and alongside the great benefits packages we offer, we continue to invest in their careers by providing a huge range of training and development opportunities. \nWhatever your stage in life, you'll find a range of benefits to complement your work-life balance.
